Dear Cal Season Ticket Holder,

I hope that you are enjoying the start of the inaugural Pac-12 college football season! As Conference play has begun, I wanted to take this opportunity to communicate important information regarding the inaugural Pac-12 Football Championship Game to all Pac-12 season ticket holders.

Should Cal win the North Division and finish with a better Conference record than the South Division Champion, the Game will be played at AT&T Park. The 2011 Pac-12 Football Championship Game will be played on December 2, 2011 and will be broadcast on FOX. Kickoff is scheduled for 5:00 P.M. PST. For more information about the 2011 Pac-12 Football Championship Game, please visit Pac-12.org/fcg and be sure to follow the conversation on Twitter (#pac12fcg).

Should the Golden Bears be in a position to host the Game, the Cal ticket office will provide you with additional ticket information in mid-October. The Pac-12 Football Championship Game is a Conference event and, while tickets will be issued to season ticket holders on a priority basis, we cannot guarantee access to your season-long seat location for the Game.

I hope that you share my excitement for the inaugural Championship Game. A Friday night, nationally televised game with an opportunity to play in the Rose Bowl or even the BCS National Championship Game on the line is sure to create an electric atmosphere. The Game will undoubtedly provide a memorable experience for student-athletes and fans alike!

Larry Scott
Pac-12 Commissioner

The bolded made me laugh.

And then cry.

If we beat Oregon and then run the table, and Oregon runs the table, then that scenario unfolds. Very simple as of right now. We'll know really quickly what to expect.

Yeah, I pretty much read Scott's email as guaranteeing that would happen. Of course, that might be because I triple my medication on every Friday of a bye week following an in-conference loss.

You mean we almost control our destiny at this point? Whoo hoo!

If we in can actually beat Oregon at Autzen stadium this year, then we are a legitimate nation'l championship contender.

So far our Defense does not seem strong enough to keep Oregon in check.

Yes, I hear you. My homeristic hope is that since our offense will definitely move the ball better than last year's offense, our D won't be as depended on as much to keep the Duckies in check. Hopefully we can grind out some drives, hold the ball, and punch it in for touchdowns.

Sounds like they sent this to every Pac-12 school.

"If WSU wins the North and has a better record than the South, the Pac-12 CCG will be held in Pullman, followed immediately by the End of Days."

I wonder if Larry Scott even bothered sending that one, or if he just emailed the first 11 schools and then said, "screw it, I gotta get home".

Unfortunately, while I am pleasantly surprised by our offense this year, and our new QB - who I think will be great next year - our defense has been a major disappointment thus far.

While I think we can put up 30 on the ducks, I doubt we hold them under 40.

My guess is that should we beat Oregon, have the Ducks run the rest of their table, the LAST thing that is need for their to be an "electric" atmosphere is the game being on Friday night.

Old Blue - "Look hon - we are in the Championship game over at AT&T"

Old Blue Two - "But luv, it is on a Thursday night and you KNOW that would mean that we couldn't vote live on the X-Factor"

One Blue two - "Shoot. You are right. Will send back our regrets. Now if it had been on a FRIDAY....."

I nominate the post by gobears725 for Post of the Year consideration. Never saw so many emoticoms used (perfectly, I might add!) in the same line!! Well done!!

I definitely chuckled.

Scott likely didn't send the e-mail to Wazzu, USC, UCLA, and Colorado season ticket holders.

We also will need UW to lose one more besides Oregon--definitely the MOST likely requirement (which is probably why you didn't mention it).

Not if there's a three way tie, LOL, if we beat Oregon, Oregon beats UW, and UW beats us.
