Preserved our priority and if we don't go to all the games we don't lose much.Problem is after sitting on the 40, the view is hard to get used to but we better because thats likely the view we will be able to afford at memorial. Binoculars, next time!

Thank you. As you and others are painfully aware, I try and bring to the attention of people attendance elsewhere to put ours in perspective.

Just in the PAC 10

SC is doing terrible in attendance, given their legacy.

UCLA is abysmal (understandably IMO).

ASU did not come close to selling out their game with USC - 10K+ empty seats...

Around the country on Saturday

Miami only had 40K for their game Saturday (and it didn't look close to that)

Maryland only had 33K people for their game

Pitt had only 40K

and so on

That doesn't excuse CAL's incompetent sales and marketing but it at least puts things in a little perspective.

I'm thinking that all over we've passed the tipping point of what fans are willing to pay. We'll see if anyone is listening.

damn those cal fans for not being great fans like west virginians!

Only 46,600 fans showed up to watch the Mountaineers' move to 4-1, a week after more than 62,000 packed Mountaineer Stadium for a nationally televised, primetime visit from LSU that supposedly showed WVU fans as some of the loudest and proudest in the country. There were plenty of reasons offered for the lack of attendance, including the nondescript MAC opponent and windy, rainy weather. (It was a blustery 55 degrees at kickoff.) And it probably didn't help that LSU lit up the Mountaineers by 26 points the last time out, either.

So you're saying it's a trend? I can just hear some Stanford fan now crowing about how they were way ahead of the curve on that one.

Except that they had REALLY cheap tickets up through last season (in fact, some adult tix are still only $25) and no one went.

I think he meant they were ahead of the trend on having sucky attendance ;-)

Seriously, they had tickets for Saturday's game for $10. Good for them for finally selling out a game.

Attendance is down all over. But that doesn't excuse our marketing and sales efforts.
