Absolutely. I wish we could do it now to get it over with. Rece made it sounds like our facilities would finally get us on a level playing field. We have plenty of talent. We have enough talent not to lose to $C 8 years in a row.
I say we stop making excuses. There's always something with JT these days. And yes, why would you leave Maynard in that long? And even in garbage time? JT's a good man, but he's lost it, the game has passed him by, he looks defeated and frustrated, it's time to end the relationship. We don't owe him anything. We don't owe him one year of the new memorial. He makes more than any of us. Thank you JT for all you've done.
Let's look for a new coach.

Did you hear the one about the world's best golfer who just lost it?

is his contract up in 2013 or 2014?
how much $$$$ is needed to fry tedford's ass & show him the door this year?
of course tedford will not get canned this season no matter what, but i'm just curious.

Thanks PK. This is sad. But went through this with Ben Braun too. It's time for a change. But we're stuck! Yet didn't we think we were stuck with Ben as well?

I think it's 2014 and the buyout would be large, probably 6-8 mill. It's not good.
CubanPete;594410 said:
You're both wrong. He's signed through 2015. And if he wins 8 games in a season plus a bowl game win, his contract is automatically extended a year for every season he does that in.

Compounding this problem is how many mistakes were made by the OFFENSE, the unit that is supposed to be the strength of a Tedford team.

I don't necessarily mind losing to USC. If it was a well-played game and we lost, fine.

No, he didn't

Bro, we've been flailing around in the QB wilderness for 5 years now. Is Maynard's performance tonight that shocking?
sycasey;594877 said:
It wasn't just Maynard, it was also fumbles & drops by the receivers, bad snaps, etc. It's one thing if the QB is bad -- Ayoob was bad, but at least the rest of the offense seemed to know what they were doing. The problem now is that QB is bad AND the entire unit takes turns making stupid mistakes; this isn't supposed to happen with a Tedford team.

Ursa - doesn't matter what happened; ultimately, performance rules.
She has to sit down with him and tell the truth. "I can't afford to buy you out, but your teams of late have hurt revenue, image and morale. True, you were promised 2 (or whatever) years after the completion of the new facilities and your contract goes until ??, but there has been a disturbing trend that continues despite your best efforts to correct it. The only thing I can do is ask for your resignation if we don't go to a bowl game this year. You could always offer it without being asked, being the honorable guy you are.
"Yes, we know about the tree-sitters and their impact on 2 years of recruiting, but the early JT would have found a way to overcome that. If you were in my shoes, how long would you put up with this level of performance?
"I could hire a HC guru to counsel you and give unbiased expert guidance, maybe Marty Schottenheimer or someone like that. No one would have to know. Who would you like?"
What does a guy do when he sees it slipping away, but can't bring himself to admit it and can't reverse the situation, despite his best efforts? Maybe go somewhere else and reinvent himself. This was his first HC job, after all. The perceived shame will diminish quicker than imagined.

YES....and lack of discipline is a coaching problem....coaches in control don't have a pattern of these behaviors...

is throwing in the towel...this is not a good sign. But it's hard to put up a good argument anymore. As one Trojan poster asked...how many elite 11 QB's do you have on the roster? Implying, I'm assuming, that if they're really that good...why be so afraid to play them. I'm really hoping that the Maynard transfer was not an agreement or consideration on the part of JT towards Allen. That would not be good...especially when you have all this "talent" in waiting. That would strike me as a Pop Warner type mentality.."I'll play for you if my friend can play." I can't say that's what happened here...but I'm trying to find an explanation.
