I don't want to post a link to drive up traffic to his Twitter site, but Skip Bayless has been on a roll lately. Which remark offends you most:

1) Still have Brady for MVP. Signature drives, halves, games vs. Dal, @Jets, @Philly. What was ARodg's signature game vs. hot, healthy team?

2) After what TBrady did late to Dallas, NYG, @Jets and @Eagles, it's offensive to even question whether he's still better than the GBay guy.

3) You bet I'd take Tebow late in games over ARodg. Tebow: 4 game-winning drives in 9 starts. ARodg unproven late. Not enough opportunities yet

4) You'd better believe I'm taking Tebow over ARodg in last 2 mins. I've SEEN Tebow do it again/again/again. ARodg hasn't had many chances.

5) ARodg playing GREAT. But not THAT great. Not unless you're Favre hater and you've lost all objectivity b/c you're really rooting against HIM

I actually don't follow Skip, but I came across some article where Aaron Rodgers implicitly criticizes Skip and had a link to his Twitter.

Amythicalprogram doesn't think much of Rodgers either. Not sure if Amy has a Twitter account, though, that definatly adds weight to an opinion to post it on Twitter

Funny you posted this as I saw Bayless say Brady was still the best quarterback in the game today on Cold Pizza. One of the other hosts agreed with him. It enraged me a little bit, even though I know they're just trying to be controversial. Brady is certainly an incredible thrower, but he has been exposed on several occasions by defeneses that bring pressure (Giants, Jets in playoffs). Rodgers has no weakness.

Remember the thread about whether Kobe Bryant was better than Michael Jordan a while back? People's ability to delude themselves about their favorite athletes is boundless.

Skip bayless is the best devils advocate around. That's why he is famous.

Skip Bayless is a guy who is just barely smart enough to comprehend that his job security is enhanced the more he says things that engender a great deal of discussion. It ensures him a place on all those talking head ESPN shows. I don't think he, or anyone else for that matter, knows or cares what his actual opinion is.

Lol, he hasn't had many chances to prove his mettle late in games because he's good enough to have the game decided by the time the 4th qtr starts.

Oh and he's come through when it matters the most --the Super Bowl.

Bayless is a tool. AR actually made a comment about "that guy on ESPN First Take" on a radio show in WI. They played it on First Take and it was hilarious to watch the steam come out of Bayless' ears.

I caught Bayless on First and Ten this morning and he was going on and on about how mean John Elway has been to Tim Tebow I thought he was going to break into tears and start crying. The dude has a serious hard on for Tebow.

If anyone can find the video it's hilarious.

If the Broncos had Rodgers instead of Tebow they would have won those games handily without needing any last-second drives, and probably would have won several more games to boot.

Well since AR has his team in position to win handily almost every game.... He hasn't had to make last minute scoring drives to win the game.

What does Skip want???? Should Green Bay keep it close to show how they perform at crunch time???

Isn't it the job of a QB to drive and score all game long to win??? Or should they try and keep it "exciting"...... geez.

This argument/discussion is dumb.

I don't think that reasonable minds can differ on the proposition that AR is the best QB in the NFL this year. With regard to Tim Tebow, sooner or later God is going to be on the side of the team with the best defense against the run.

Yeah, he was so good, he took all the excitement out of the game too soon so he couldn't prove how clutch he was.

Favre (who was a great QB) was 'clutch' so often in his career because he also made plenty of plays earlier in games that forced him to be clutch at the end.

I think the Tebow thing is fake at this point too. Early on he truly believed Tebow could throw the ball but now he realizes it isn't true so Skip is couching everything with "if they let Tebow go to a spread, hurry-up offense he'll lead them to the playoffs" and "I never said he'd make the pro bowl, just that he'd make the PLAYoffs." When/if Tebow fails, Skip will always claim it's because Denver refused to run an Urban Meyer college offense.

The AR stuff is out of spite. Skip definitely has some issues but mostly he just wants to be right and it eats him up when he's so obviously wrong. He said he wasn't buying Rodgers til he won a playoff game - then when he won a playoff game, he needed to see him get to the SB, then when he got there he said he needed to win a SB, and when Rodgers did that Skip said - anyone can win one Super Bowl - he has to do it again and Tom Brady has 3.

It is absolutely eating skip up inside that Rodgers has been this successful but only because Skip was wrong about him. The common thread behind all of Skip's favorites/hated players is that Skup picks an argument and never moves away from it regardless of how the facts play out. He still praises Cutler and Romo all the time even though they're obviously not even close to the player that AR is.

His performance so far this year though, compares favorably to any QB's in history, and that is definitely Bradyesque/Jordanesque.

...I didn't even know this guy, but he seems to be an Okie who went to Vanderbilt, shoots his mouth, writes books about the Dallas Cowboys that didn't sell and basically looks like a moron.

AR just won a Super Bowl and has the highest QB rating in the league with about 10 more TDs than Brady. This Bayless guy must love Jesus Tebow for his religious fundamentalism is my guess.

On to something valuable....

:headbang

Skippy Bayless + Steven A. Smith together on ESPN 1st Take in the morning is such a steaming hot mess that's its hard to really take any of it seriously.

Tim Teabag is a poor man's Michael Vick. No even on the same level as Rodgers.

I went to the same high school as Bayless, he's 3 years ahead of me. His contrarian views are his schtick, but he is a royal pain in the rear, incredibly annoying, and has a ridiculously high opinion of himself. I don't care at all for him or his style.

He was much better as a writer than the annoying tv/radio person he is now.

He was hired by the Dallas Morning News to be its lead sports columnist when he was 25. Two years later the Dallas Times Herald hired him away and made him one of the country's highest paid sports columnists and that was when Skippy became well known, since he became the subject of an article in The Wall Street Journal.

Bayless wrote "God's Coach" in 1989, about the rise and fall of Tom Landry's Dallas Cowboys and wrote "The Boys" after the Cowboys won the 93 Super Bowl. He broke the story that Jimmy Johnson and Jerry Jones were not "best friends" and correctly predicted that Jones would fire Johnson no matter how much success the team had.
