Texas A&M or ASU will beat them to Sumlin. My pick all along has been DeWayne Walker, but others here think it will be Tom Cable. Either would be the economical pick.

UCLA isnt on Sumlin. I ultimately think Mike Belotti ends up with that job.<br /><br />ASU is doing everything in their power to land Sumlin. A&M expedited the firing of Sherman prior to the bowl game for this very reason. Think Sumlin takes the Aggie job.<br /><br />A side comment not relating to our conference, Auburn O-Coordinator Gus Malzahn will end up landing the UNC job.

I remember when Ricky was hired ... some fan (bouncepass???) posted a ton of info on recruits/coaches/schemes/blah blah how awesome ucla was going to be and they were getting the best coaches and recruits (high rating/wanted by U$C and Texas)..... My post was intended to be smart-ass, but the truth of the matter is UCLA is putting more emphasis and $ on the Basketball program, but at the moment are not seeing the rewards. But the earlier poster noting that football had been down for 20 years is on the mark.

...it's time to look for a new AD.

Sumlin is not going to ASU. He wants the Texas A&M job and there are boosters in College Station that think he'd be a good fit with his Houston recruiting ties. <br /><br />Petersen to UCLA is not dead yet. UCLA has counter offered today. I know someone who is directly involved (not a ucla grad or employee) and this person told me about an hour ago that a final decision will probably be delivered Monday, after the Broncos season is over. <br /><br />He says Petersen's family actually wants him to take the job. My guy says 70-30 in favor of Petersen staying in Boise. fwiw. <br /><br />huge drop off if they don't land Petersen. Wouldn't be surprised to see a stiff like DeWayne Walker.

With the graduation of Kellen Moore, the Broncs won't be the same.
