Is Cal still recruiting Byron Marshall at RB, or has that stopped since he committed to Oregon?<br /><br />As for Briggs, he was a consensus 3 star RB...seems to me like the hype was all about one comment from Tedford saying he had a similar style to Marshawn...

Now that the season is in hindsight, we can say we did end up with a pretty solid RB corp of upperclassmen emerging. Bigelow and Lasco both have talent - especially Bigelow - and we also have Ervin, as well. Plus Briggs and Yarnway. I'm not concerned about the depth, nor am I concerned that one of them didn't emerge this year. That Bigelow didn't redshirt says the coaching staff thinks he's talented - Jahvid had less than 30 carries as a true freshman, but wasn't redshirted because of his talent. Forsett wasn't redshirted and had 11 carries as a true fresh. Shane did redshirt. Plus the current RB crew is deep, even if no single one is quite as talented as our best backs of recent years. I don't think this is a huge concern going forward.

Especially considering how weak we were at the position going into this season.<hr></blockquote><br /><br />Don't worry...both Lasco and Bigelow have the physical skills required...Lasco needed to put on some muscle because he was injured his senior year and missed much of the year...when you hear our Bear fans from Texas talk about him, they say one thing....FAST...and he is well muscled now so hold on to your hats...Lasco should be very good....I was on C.J. Anderson's bandwagon when he came aboard and nobody thought much of it...but I said he'd be damned good once he got up to speed on everything.....and he is all that and is getting better still.

Does anybody know the date Armstead will announce his decision? Gotta be coming up soon if he is an ee.

The official visit is the ultimate game changer during the recruitment process. It wouldnt surprise anybody if Payton comes around and eventually becomes a Bear.
