As usual it is pure coaching. <br /><br />Maynard is just the latest in a line of poorly coached unsound players. He is not even one of the few, he is one of the few dozen. <br /><br /><br />The coaching is terrible. The players are fine, and working their ass off with what they are given.<br /><br />Need an example of what Cal is and could be? Look at SF. Blaming the 49er players was ridiculous. Just like blaming our players.

I agree mostly....but I'm sure these guys are coached up to hold on to the ball and refuse to do so....they need to be sat down or punished for repeated bad behavior like that.....I don't think Coach M is nearly as bad as those guys on the OL play at times....some are products of the tree sitting years and it shows...

Honestly it starts with the guys up front ... when Zach had some sort of time he made some pretty good throws... he just needs to learn to throw it away at times

His issues were not mental, they were more mechanical--he was not good at dropping back and throwing a short pass--his throwing motion was too long/over the top. When he was scrambling to avoid pressure, or even in the grasp, he would make amazing plays. It was the seemingly easy plays, first down swing passes, quick outs, not pressure plays that were his issue.

It's hard to make an objective assessment of Zach when his center can't snap him the ball right and his blind side kept on getting blown up.
