You see a team with a true freshman quarterback.<br />You see a team where more than one quarterback gets experience.<br />You see a team that evaluates their opponent and comes up with a game plan to exploit the opponent's weakness.<br />You see a team where before the bowl game, there's a real quarterback evaluation and the best guy for the game plan starts.<br />You see a team with a simple offense, but a few successful "trick" plays, that a true freshman quarterback can run.<br />You see a team that can make adjustments to be successful.<br />You see a team that takes chances, and they work.<br />You see a team that wins.<br /><br />What do you see?<br /><br />You see ---- UT<br /><br />bah ... another game, broadcast late on the East Coast, where going to bed at half-time would have been the smart thing to do.

Haha very funny! <br /><br />"You see a team that takes chances" I was thinking the same thing during their fake punt and the attempted bomb from DEEP in their own territory. Showed some real swagger and confidence to try that stuff, the kind of the thing that is second nature to teams like Oregon. *sigh*, in games like last night we really do look so dull and timid in comparison.

You also see a team with a very different definition of good and bad. This Texas team is considered bad by Longhorn fans, 7-5 seasons are nothing for them to get excited about.

If Ash develops in the Spring and Summer (which he should - he started the summer workouts as the #4 QB, so really wasn't a focus), then I feel like our offense will improve and be acceptable; our defense will be better (don't lose much, and have some nice new pieces coming in).<br /><br />Mack typically hasn't been a risk taker, but he really has let his coaches coach aggressively, and its been more fun to watch.

I'm hoping some improvement by Ash (he has the tools I think - big arm, decent mobility) in the spring/summer/fall will be enough to make us competent.

That "What do you see? UC Berkeley" university promo spot (or whatever it's called) is the stupidest one I've seen and it's a shame that Cal has been using it for a good number of years now. The Texas spot is much better, and at least it doesn't end with a lame pun.

What scares me is that he just might be that mediocre in both his abilities and personnel goals for the team. His own personnel goals are a bit different, just look at his bloody paycheck.
