His status update says: "Stanford.." (and a bunch of his friends are congratulating him).

just wondering bc Murphy himself squashed the twitter rumors he committed to Stanford a couple hours ago. <br /><br />unless he just said "screw it" and decided to go ahead and make it public.

How wierd. He went out of his way to deny he committed just so he could commit on his FB page? Oh well, monster pickup for them.

Just judging by the Twitterverse, he's only visiting Stanfurd this weekend, not committing. If he's really visiting Cal on the 27th with a bunch of #CalGang dudes, then I think we should feel optimistic.

I was kinda hoping we could sneak in there at the last minute with Murphy. Oh well. Hate to see a player of his caliber lining up for Furd, but at least we'll have some talented DL's as well.

Stanford fans are too few and far between to get into trolling. They barely have activity on their own board. Without Luck their new recruits will be playing in a largely empty stadium.

U$C fans are still too confident in their inherent superiority to do anything other than come over here and preen. (Studiously avoiding threads like "Sanctions help recruiting" and "Catch and release" of course :p). Dawgs are feeling like mangy curs with their recruiting being so mediocre and their desperate attempts to fling money at Tosh seeming to be rebuffed to this point.

I first saw the screen name over on ShaggyBevo leading up to the Holiday Bowl. He has become an occasional poster over there and posts things related to Cal or trashes Oregon, Furd, and SUC. I have done the same.<br /><br />I think some of you here need to lighten up, but I agree it's best to trash Stanfurd after LOI day, and that high school recruits are off limits.

'furd is a great school. Having that school on your resume opens a lot of doors. Many of the alumni are quite successful in life. <br /><br />With that said, I find that many of them act entitled and like they are above others. <br /><br />It's a cool campus bu I imagine the culture is quite sheltered like many of the students who go there. <br /><br />One of the great things about Cal is the wide spectrum of people and culture that is closer to the real world.

However, do not trash any of the recruits for making a decision that seems right to them. If they were good enough characters for us to make an offer, they don't lose that character just because they don't choose us. In other words, no sour grapes toward the recruits.
