Bob Condotta reported that there is "some speculation that UW may be looking at Kiseau". That's hardly news. It's an unconfirmed rumor that UW might be interested.

tim94501;680588 said:

Wtf is going on. Twitter basically has read **** you cal for the last 24 hrs.

There's another thread on it. I believe it when I see it.
Unfortunately (and I really dissed on this last night) the rumors out of Seattle are that they are losing their OC to Bama. This begins to make some sense.

But while this hurts us do not think for a moment it is the greatest gift of god to Sark. When all is said and done he has essentially turned over his WHOLE staff since Jan. 1. We will see how that all works out for him as he essentially goes "all in".

That said, I wouldn't be surprised to see Cal counter effectively here - the idea being that we probably need some stability over on the offensive side unless Tedford has his eye on an OC that he really likes.
What has Kiesau done to make him an attractive OC candidate? I'm not knocking him, but our offense didn't set the world on fire this year.

I understand he would be interested, if it's a clear promotion. Then again I thought the same with Tosh...
The beginning of the end for Tedford.. and Sark?

If Sark goes 7-6 another 2 years with this kind of turnover and this kind of money, will he be able to keep his job?

If we lose Kiesau and don't replace him with someone more awesome (+ keep our recruits), that's bad for JT too.

Oh the drama!

I don't think Kiesau goes though. At least, if he does, I don't expect him to burn bridges like Tosh did. After all Kiesau left and then was brought back.

Kiesau came to Cal from Oregon. Not sure why anyone would be surprised if he left and not sure if it really matters that much.

Receiver coaches are easy to replace.

Let's bring in G Mac, Nickerson and Follett.
We will over pay for the decent but unspectacular Kiesau as an overreaction to letting Lupoi get away. I seem to recall a certain head coach getting a sweetheart deal that turned out to be an overreaction to his accomplishments. Just watch.
I think he stays, unless Washington is willing to throw a million for him. How would he feel about signing on after Tosh signed for those bucks and possibly making less than someone who has been at this for a much shorter period? If Sark is willing to pay a million for Kiesau, I say let him go. You start paying those salaries and you end up with unintended consequences. You can't help but have bad morale not only in the athletic department but also in the academic departments as well. I love Cal football, but I love Cal more. If this will affect our ability to keep the top researchers at Cal (not saying it will), I would rather sacrifice football success than academic success. I would have been all for paying $300K for Tosh, but $600K plus all those benefits? We might as well become an SEC school with the academic component existing just as an excuse to remain part of CFB. Remember when we were saying that we needed to pay whatever was needed to keep Tedford? And Tosh did what was best for him. Doesn't mean we need to forgive and forget. If he turns out to be the best option later on for an open position, then great. If not, the legacy should play no part since it played very little part for him.

This mandatory union scale for assistants BS is just a CYA scheme dreamed up in the Cal AD.

This actual is a huge deal because it probably blows up our studly WR class. Who is Kline going to throw it to now? Hagen?

Maybe Michalczik takes over play-calling duties.

Personally, I think Marcus Arroyo, a former QB and OC at out-gunned San Jose State, should be able call a better game than Keisau.

Between Michalczik, Tedford and Arroyo, all is not loss in the OC department...maybe even better.
