We don't need more kumbaya and smoke blowing. We aren't Texas or USC.

This would work for him in two ways. First, he can make the FB fans/alums happy by showing us he cares so much about Cal football that he threw the incompetent AD to the curb. Second, in case you don't know, the faculty senate recently came within a eyelash of voting "no Confidence" regarding Birgy has our Chancellor. Word is he is trying to keep a low profile as to not further stir up the faculty. Bagging Sandy's scalp would actually win him support from the sports hating faction of the faculty. He told her to make due with the money she has....we'd be better off cutting more sports to be in line with other universities than firing an AD who has her hands tied behind her back...

That's one reason why they have a this dough to throw around.<hr></blockquote><br /><br />I'm of the opinion that overall, Sandy has been the best AD at Cal in a long time...afterall, we do have new facilities and multiple winning teams we haven't had before when no academic cared one way or the other....sure, she has made mistakes but my take is that her hands are tied behind her back.....we go to the donors time and time again, it gets old and the well runs dry at times..NO, the answer is not to fire the AD, but to get our AD budget into the real world and cut sports so we can afford to be competitive in football....we don't need scapegoats, we need solutions to chronic problems that have been around for quite some time....
