This is on Tosh, not on Cal for not paying.

Eh, well, maybe. If he would have left anyway because we couldn't match, then it really boils down to properly informing Admin that he was going to leave - which I agree seems crappy if he didn't inform them. And then, prior to leaving, he was asking recruits to come with him.

I'm just really not prepared to bury the guy. He seemed like a good coach and an even better recruiter. He had an opportunity and he took it. He might take more than the new job but its on us to make sure that doesn't happen.

You can't just exonerate this guy because he did good by us in the past. Your word is your word.

we can see the extra money the title etc... messing around with Cal recruits is where he crossed the line and now have kids in limbo ( way to go her) such a serious life time decsion great timing ( way to go she)... sorry cant let that one slide ... tosh wake up you need to call all CAL recruits and tell them for what its worth sorry handled this wrong its a business but recruits are NOT employees "i betreyed you " GO TO CAL STICK WITH YOUR COMMITMENTS ... THEN JUST MAYBE DEPENDING ON LOI DAY TOSH CAN LOOK HIMSELF IN THE MIRROR

Less than a month ago, this board was saying "watch out" to Tedford because Tosh was being courted by other teams and that we needed to lock him up. Now we're throwing him under the bus because he actually took an offer? An offer that everyone saw coming but Cal chose to do nothing?

Give me a break. The hypocrisy on this board knows no limit.

As others have said, it's not that he left (which of course he was free to do) but that he sabotaged us before and since his official departure.

drunkoski;685070 said:

a) he was always a slimeball and tedford knew it and didn't care.

b) he was our slimeball and tedford should have done what it took to keep him.

c) people here have think our coaches are way more honest then they are.

happy?

Perhaps you were aware of facts that escaped the rest of us. I had no idea prior to this incident that he was "always a slimeball" or that "tedford [sic] knew it and didn't care." I met him at an event and he seemed like a nice, personable, and intelligent guy. I was shocked at what transpired and am willing to bet that a majority of the posters on the Board were equally taken aback.
