Did Silver stop backing Tosh? I was disappointed to see him jump in Tosh's favor when this first happened. You would think as a journalist he would wait for the facts before making a judgment.

Silver is a witty attention whore. It's his job to be provacotive, whip up emotions, review Bear Insider, then sail in and write something good.

Wait, I thought a few weeks back Silver was defending Tosh and slamming JT over injurygate. Tepper too. Has he changed his mind now? Did he slam Tosh, or is he still buddies with him?

My own position, should my son ask me what to do, I would have told him to honor your commitment to your employer even if you don't like your boss. You have just received a monstrous pay raise - be satisfied with that for the short term. After the recruiting season is done, face your boss and let him know you'll be looking for a promotion in job stature. If it doesn't materialize then you'll be looking for other pastures. This may seem simplistic to many of you but it is how I feel.

I'm surprised too. I'm the one that started the twitter convo regarding this and he point blank defended tosh saying he was "thrown under the bus." he used that statement to deflect on the poor manner in which he left. <br /><br />Maybe silver is just playing this like a politician and knows that anti-UW sentiment will be popular with the bear crowd.

I know a few insiders (not Silver, but guys who do know Tosh personally) who are defending him without specifics.... I can't think of anything that would justify what Tosh has done, so it has baffled me...

Wow, Silver really gave it to them straight. Blasted the "once proud" UW program. By contrast he really vouched for the integrity of the Cal program. That he did this on a Seattle station is remarkable. His comments start at about 7:07 of this 14:29 interview. Great stuff--thanks Mike!

Happy to report that the rest of the Bay Area is waking up to this fiasco. I'm getting phone calls from family up there and they are furious (they know I'm a Cal addict so they check in with me for accurate info lol). <br /><br />The media is picking it up, and forming opinions. Not hard to conclude what went on here... <br /><br />Anyone else notice local press picking up?
