Before you flame, be assured I am not reading anything particular into this, but it is interesting that JT has replaced 2 white coaches with 3 African Americans. Previously, we had 2 African American assistant coaches if I am not mistaken (Thompson and Gould), now we have 5. It may be pure coincidence (in fact, it probably is), or it may be an attempt on JT's part to have more staff that players can relate to given the fact that the others are middle-aged white men (Pendergast, Michalcik, Genyck, etc.). As I said, it may not mean anything...or it may.

I understand what you're saying, but several of the African American players we were after had no problems relating to a 30 year old white guy.

Another interesting observation: When people call their own observation "interesting", it's often not.

You're right about the NFL v. college angle. But I don't see why noticing someone's race is assumed to be racist. As I said, it may or may not mean something. But it's a fact.

Tedford has decided not to worry about race in hiring assistant coaches. Instead he's changing the game entirely. He announced today that based off the success of his women's huddle clinics that he will be promoting from within the Cal family. Blondes and brunettes with big racks and who have attended more than one clinic are now encouraged to submit their resumes for assistant coach positions. MILFs and Cougars are rumored to be candidates for the coordinator positions while the 20 somethings are in line for assistant roles. Tedford was quoted as saying that the hiring of hot chicks with football knowledge was going to revolutionize the game and that he was now confident that 5 star prospects would return his coaches calls. Tedford also mentioned that he thought this new practice would give the Bears an unfair advantage with recruits in the bedroom...opps i meant living room.
