Stanford makes a point of being at least competitive against Cal in most sports. Not tonight.
Tonight 9-0 Cal over Stanford
Stanford got 3 singles and never got past 1st base
The game was played at Stanford.
Stanford women's softball is ranked in the top 10 nationally.

But it seems everything is coming together for this team. I was waiting for them to play another top team like Hawaii to see how real this team is. There are still a number of tough squads out there.

We knew the offense would be improved with the returnees, great Frosh and Val back.

They deserve their ranking and let's hope for no injuries the rest of the way.

But so are ASU, UW in the Pac and AL/FL in the SEC. If Jolene can return to her form of last year and Arioto can stay healthy, we can compete with anyone. ASU has 2 very good pitchers and has always hit well under the current coach. UW's Inglesby is Arioto-lite, a quality pitcher and excellent hitter w/power. I've been a bit surprised by the way the super-frosh: Hendu II, Kostreba and Cordes have broken in, a pleasant surprise. Should be a fun season. Now, if we just had a facility that would allow us to host some tournament games....
