Here are the current 100 meter leaders in CA:

Still towards the beginning of track season, but of note...

- Bryce Treggs has run a wind-aided 10.92 and a legal 11.01
This is significant, since he didn't come close to breaking 11 last year. By the end of year, he should be well below that. He'll be dangerous come next year.

- Willie Fletcher, our late sleeper signee, has run a 11.28 so far. It's not legal, since there was no wind information provided. But that is a great time. A 6'2 late bloomer with that kind of speed and athletic ability is well worth the scholly. Great material to work with for the coaching staff.

- Darrell Daniels from Freedom High in Oakley has run 10.86, also without any wind information. At 6'4 and 210 lbs. as a high school junior, that's Megatron Jr. in the making. I wonder why he hasn't been offered yet.

- The current state leader is Byron Marshall from San Jose @ 10.61. Oregon got another burner with him. Saw him a couple of times in person, but wasn't too impressed. Great straight ahead speed, but not much wiggle, and didn't break a whole lot of tackles. It will be interesting to see how he develops.

Cedric Dozier has run an 11.43 this season. His fastest time last season was 11.34.

Darius Powe said that he ran a 10.84 on Twitter, but I haven't been able to find an official source for that. Maybe that was hand-timed. He got 1st place in the 100 at whatever race that was. Still, that's great for a 6-3/205 lb. WR in high school. It's his first season ever running track.
