Anybody know his injury status?

Haven't heard anything but given his knee injury, I wouldn't think he'd be back until Fall camp at the earliest, similar to McClure.

I'm optimistic.

Sooner than McClure. For sure.

Does anybody know where he projects in the depth chart and at what position?
I thought he was playing more ILB than DE last year but I'm hearing other names at OLB, including Camporeale, McCain, Whiteside, Jefferson and possibly Gibson.

I'm thinking Outside.

if he gets healthy i can see him as a future 1st rd draft pick at either Olb or mlb

Indeed, I'm guessing any impact he ends up having won't be until at least 2013, by which time who knows what position he will turn out to be best suited for. True, his measurables are intriguing, but he's gonna have to make plays on the field, against big-time competition.

Scarlett is clearly very gifted athletically. He's yet to show that he can stay healthy, however. I think many people discount just how big a factor being able to stay healthy is in separating those that succeed and those that don't. Hopefully his body will cooperate, because I'd love to see him on the field consistently.
Also, did he blow his Freshman year last year or was he able to redshirt? (I know he played a little early but I'm always unsure about what constitutes enough time to take up a year of eligibility per NCAA rules.)

I believe he burned his RS as he played in 3 games, if I remember correctly one game was near the end....his bio shows no redshirt.....

Tend to agree, but sometimes simply being in the two deep without playing much prepares you to contribute right away in your second year. See, i.e., Marvin Jones and Brian Schwenke (and to a lesser extent, Trevor Guyton).

Scarlett broke his fibula, he'll be ready to go. Great young man, and he's huge. He'll be playing OLB.
