....is that he is the best player in basketball yet he keeps a poker face at all times, he never celebrates, he never woofs on his opponents, he always acts like someone who has been there before and acts like he expects success. He acts like a 50 year old man. That's just no fun at all. He needs to take lessons on how to properly conduct himself like a modern athlete from some former Cal football players that are now in the NFL.

You mean he should do things like somersault towards the basket for a dunk but end up one foot short of the basket on his dunk because he overestimated his somersaulting ability?

Or he can grab his crouch after a dunk?

Or maybe run up and down the baseline and claim to be running out the clock when he is in fact just showboating?

Or maybe just hop in a golf cart and ghost ride after making a three pointer?

He actually sneers quite a bit.

Bearister, I presume you're being sarcastic.

KD's demeanor and personality make him really easy to root for. Go Thunder!

Great player - but he isn't the best player in the NBA.

It's easily Lebron - elite defensive player, incredibly efficient offensively, rebounds extremely well, excellent passer.

Durant is an outstanding shooter and an excellent rebounder for his position, but he's only slightly above average defensively and turns the ball over way too often for a guy who doesn't create much for others.

Durant is a way more likeable player, but Lebron is significantly better.

...is that he is not a Golden State Warrior...he continues to grow on me and impress me...I didn't like him originally just because he was playing for Texas as a collegiate, and also that team didn't make that much noise with him on it despite all the talk about him, then he comes to the NBA and extends the effectiveness of his game about 10 feet further away from the basket to go with his post up game...and o my god he just keeps blowing up...a scorer first..to a clutch player...to a clutch playoff player...to a clutch fourth quarter playoff player...dang...probably the Warriors would have smothered his development...

Durant is a freak of nature with his physical skills. A guy with his height shouldn't be able to handle the ball like a guard, but he totally pulls it off. I am blown away every time I see him play, and I wonder why he isn't taking more shots than he does. It probably has something to do with his humbleness and team player mentality. To top all of this off, he's got as pure a stroke as there is. It's nearly impossible not to like this guy.

I'm a Laker fan, but I thoroughly enjoy watching and seeing KD in action.

Greg Oden must puke every time he sees Durant on the hardwood.

Not even close. Every team in the NBA would trade Durant for LeBron (including the Thunder if you gave them truth serum). That is accounting for Durant's age, too. Durant is a fantastic player and will be one of tthe best ever, but he is nowhere near LeBron, not even close.

Lebron is easily the best player in the league. Durant is excellent, but not even near the level of Lebron when it comes to banging in the post, driving in the lane, guarding the other team's stars whether they are big forwards or guards.

I'd rather have Durant. Especially in the 4th quarter.

You're short-sighted.
4th year in the league, Kevin Durant is a 23 year-old 6'9 small forward/shooting guard with 7'5 wingspan. He's a 3-time scoring champion, averaging 28 ppg and shoots 38% from the 3-point line.
LeBron James will not get any better.

Do not agree, he just finished one of the best few statistical seasons of the last 50 years, an improvement of the last few years (which were great).

I agree LeBron is the better overall player right now but there isn't a huge gap between the two and Durant is still improving rapidly.

I also doubt every team in the league would trade Durant for LeBron straight up at this point. Probably more than 50% of teams but no way close to every team.

Statistical improvement last couple of years because he got much better teammates than his Cleveland days.
His teammates won't improve, either.
LeBron has already hit an age when players cease to improve, and in a couple of years he'll start declining. Just like Kobe 7 years ago, LeBron has accured more mileage than a typical 27-year old.
If I start an expansion team, I would want a player with a longer future, and that's Durant.
If I were managing a contending team, however, I'd pick LeBron for now.

This argument may be premature. This series will help settle it. The test of the "greatest NBA player" is always how he performs in a championship. Jordan, Bird, Magic, Kobe all made their reps here and it was never that easy. Remember Jordan putting up 60 against the Celtics and losing.

LeBron is now the face of the game and deservedly so. Getting to the finals with the misfits of Cleveland was epic. But LeBron is losing luster in Miami. He is playing with a HOF guard so can't blame the supporting class as much and some of his play has been head scratching. So if Durant and his team come up big the torch may be passed

Sure, why not take the opportunity to bash our own (I assume you are referring to the Aaron Rodgers championship belt move after TDs, right :p ), since there are no examples of actual NBA players that are demonstrative and celebrate.
