^ Love that guy's fight against funnyjunk. Also, Faraday but he was born too soon (or died to early).

So THIS is what our FOOTBALL board has devolved to. Embarrassing, even for a summer thread.

yeah, Laf, but doesn't it make you feel just a little good inside to know that neither $C nor Oregon could ever come up with a thread like this on one of their fan sites?

Thread would look much better on this board with "OT:" preceding the subject.

Cal fans are smart. I'm guessing most folks figured it out.

...I can tell I am dealing with Cal people when I see a thread and everything my tiny little brain (by gosh Igor got the one marked AB Normal) comes up with has already been posted.

I did notice one guy that is not on this list...I'll just put this little snap shot up and you guys will know instantaneously. Of course, I have to thank him for the great necking spot (of course enhanced by 60's substances) overlooking his lab and the little invention whirring around below:

:bravo

PS: DO OVER....he DID win the Nobel prize...darn!!!!

You're right, can't forget about Ernest O. Lawrence....I listed my 2 favorite scientist who are alive, but hey, in truth, my all time favorite is still Glenn T. Seaborg.....seen here with Lawrence and Oppenheimer.....

Glenn T. Seaborg pointing to Seaborgium (element 106) on the Periodic Table of the Elements....oops, look at that, still no Stanfurdian eh Dr. Seaborg.

In all seriousness Ed Glaeser who is one of the best guys working on urban economics in the last 50 years. I wouldn't be at all surprised to see him win it for his work on amalgamation theory (why certain firms tend to congregate together) and what it means for cities. Highly recommend his "popular" book (no math ;-( "The Triumph of the City"

what is more amusing is our accidentally naming scientists who have won Noble Prizes. we have so many we can't keep track of them all.
