I just looked at the kids who are coming in for the first time in a couple of months and I forgt what a great class this is. Really great football players and great kids. Can't wait to see who plays out of this group this year.GOBEARS!

It is a good class. In fact it's a top 25 class that's right up there with the two before it. The way people talk on this board you'd think we were bottom of the Pac in talent. We should be proud of this class and the effort of the coaching staff to get it.

I think they've actually already showed up to campus.

I think you identified the problem fans have with CAL football right there. Talent isn't the issue. Most years, Oregon would swap rosters, sans QB, in a heartbeat.

I think the 2012 class is great considering the circumstances.
All the players love Cal.

That class is great no matter what the circumstances. Many good players and the highest regarded players are in positions of need.

The "could of been" factor will always hang over it for obvious reasons.

If you want to see this class as somehow tainted, that's your prerogative. However, those of us who dig Cal football for more than ratings will enjoy the hell out of it. It should be the heart of the team in two to three years.

You've got to be kidding me! I love the class and EVERY bear who stayed committed. That being said, we almost had a historic class. We finished with a solid class. Try and justify it if you want.

When will this class have a chance to start training? Is fall camp next?
I wonder if they're allowed to workout in the SAHPC.

Are you sure about that trade? I need to see more stats, but it seems to me that the Ducks have produced more NFL Offensive linemen than Cal in the last 3-4 years. Maybe somebody has the numbers to prove or disprove that notion.
AZGoldenBear;841905986 said:
ummm no. It's still a solid class that fits needs. We finished in the top25. The point is we were in pretty good position for a top 5 class.
Is the class good? YES. The "could of been" factor will always hang over it for obvious reasons.

Oregon's been getting by on the OL with prospects not highly regarded out of HS. That said the past couple of cycles we've picked up some more talented kids. They have a bright future, but we certainly haven't been putting that many OL into the league lately.

I'm starting to wonder if you duck fans are just trying to screw with the stereotype. Where does this Oregon does more than Cal with less thing come from? The last time Cal had a higher team recruiting ranking than Oregon according to Scout was 2006. Cal really cratered in 2008 and 2009, falling into the 30's. Other than that, Cal has done fine for itself, but still finished below Oregon in the recruiting rankings.
That is the primary reason for the change in fortunes guys. And 2008/9 are still hurting us.
So, no, I don't think you would trade your roster.
