External Relations and Office of Protocol

Today I received an e-mail from the ATO informing me that although I'm an ESP seat holder, and therefore my seats are paid for, I need to pay a $25 fee for handling and UPS delivery. No problem with that. After paying online, I received the usual confirming e-mail from the ATO confirming my payment. In addition, I received a second e-mail from "External Relations and Office of Protocol" confirming receipt of my purchase. I've never heard of the latter, an during decades of football and basketball season ticket purchases, I've never received a purchase confirmation from them. Anybody know why this organization is involved?

Maybe they got word of the problem with the ATO staff being jerknuggets and in typical California problem solving, decided to add more bureaucracy rather deal with the problem.

This charge is same as last year. My e-mail arrived @ 1:35pm from "Gold Standard". Nary a hint of ATO, or External relations, etc. My receipt is from ""Cal Football" and the reply address is rsvptocal@berkeley.edu which I know is within the Development group. The are working on the parking permit process.

For us old dogs, a paradigm switch, Gold Standard Service. Relax, pay, and enjoy!

Ooops! They keep on coming! 2nd receipt from External Relations & Office of Protocol just arrived. Definitely the "Gold Standard" folks, but Phantomfan has nailed it. It appears to be a layer of bureaucracy

Some university official must have a significant other that wanted to be put in charge of a phantom entity so that they could draw a state paycheck.

Don't care actually. Seemed like an whoopsie oversight they hadn't remembered to collected the (kinda high) delivery charge earlier.

But, come on, us ESP subscribers don't care too much about minor details. As long as Cal <anything> can delivery seating / parking packets 4 to 6 week prior to Sept 1st, as claimed, score them an A+.

Exactly. If I get the tickets 6 weeks prior to Sept 1 (that would be July 21st) I would be very happy. If we get the ticket four weeks before (Aug 4th), I will be pleasantly surprised.

It will be interesting to see when the tickets are delivered. We are now inside the 4-6 week window.

Cal ATO set the expectation.

If you are insinuating some Indescrepancy then bring out the facts on the table, otherwise this is uncalled for
