USC turns 5 stars into nobodies, not 2 stars into NFL Pro Bowlers like we do.

Him, Nico Falah (O-line), and a highly ranked center Khaliel Rodgers. And Vernon Hargreaves says they lead for him. Not a bad day. I know it's early, but their recruiting class is going to end up to be scary.

We rarely get the guys with USC offers, and that's only because they run out of schollies (think the Trojans are up against it now).

Now the real battles begin. Let's all chill and see where the chips fall.

ya he could easily be looking at is as that he is really unsure and just wants to verbal so he can make sure he has a spot if he chooses USC. He can always back-out later.

Meh, not really surprised or concerned anymore. What ever positive relationship he may have built up with the staff here was dwarfed by the USC allure this year. This is hands down, the best class in the country. Rivals currently has them at #2, sans EV, and their star Avg is just destroying everyone else. This is not one of those year we are going to "win the off season".

I don't think they'll ALL sign, but good god.

I can confirm he did indeed say this - I saw it on my feed. He's working on LJ Moore and AJ Richardson right now though, based on his timeline.

Good for Avery that he's still working recruits after this hiccup. Would love to get LJ Moore. Come to Cal if you're reading this! And bring your teammates along.

Avery will keep it up, just like the guys are saying he's on AJ Richardson and LJ Moore right now. I think we're gonna land AJ Friday and look good for more. Avery is just bummed cuz he's been on Eddie a long time and they are close.

I'm seeing 14 verbals. You probably know way more about the Trojan roster than I do, but the math I've seen has always been 18 total, 15+3. So, I think either you're saying there aren't 14 now, or you're taking 19 because there's room from someone in the previous class not enrolling.

I'm surprised you're so sure they will all sign since we are 7 months out from NSD, but I guess we can revisit this in February of 2013. With all the early committments this year in general across CFB, I think we're going to see more decommittments than ever.

SC has put together ridiculous classes on a near annual basis since PC got the troy train rolling again. This is a little better than normal but nothing special for them. A few years ago they signed like 7 of the top 10 CA recruits.

What is more unusual is a coach with 10 years tenure and and brand new facilities fumbling his recruiting class so badly.

I don't have any doubt USC will fill up the EE number, but I don't think you can have more than 3 because that will cap your last class. I don't know if that would impact anyone's decision and I doubt it would. I see your list, and I have to believe you'll hold back a schollie or 2 just in case someone blows up his senior year or some other elite player wonders whats going on over there.

I guess there's still plenty of time to suggest players look elsewhere, but I don't think USC goes into the season without a schollie to give since guys haven't even officialed yet.

Those guys won a ton of games at the collegiate level. Isn't that what it is all about? Do you really think a guy like Reggie bush would have had more success at the nfl level if he came to cal instead of USC?

I was merely answering our Trojan buddy who quipped about low star guys who made it in the NFL...I merely listed the high star guys who didn't make it in the NFL. Doesn't have anything to do with their college careers which were very good.

I actually think this will hurt USC. They have 4 spots left and will probably fill that up before August is over as kids won't want to miss out on the last few schollies... Then what... Over 4 months of zero recruiting news for them? They will have no buzz at all and I think players will switch on them.

At least these guys aren't going to Furd.

Prevot? i kind of figured Gilmore was bound for LSU and Adams to Clemson, but at this point i won't doubt SC could factor in with both of them.

The DB recruiting is what impresses me most. Looks like you guys will land Jalen Ramsey next week and now lead for Hargreaves too.

if you end up with both of those guys, I'm hopeful that pushes some qaulity DB's like Tyler Foreman and Johnny Johnson our way.
