Penn State recruits can transfer without penalty and be eligible immediately.

I'm starting a new thread to post specific player bios of guys who have any ties to Cal. Penn State's roster is very regional, so I came up with only two names:

Ryan Nowicki, redshirt freshman, offensive tackle, from Arizona. One of the few PSU kids from the west coast. Had offers from Arizona, ASU, Boise State, Illinois, Michigan, Oregon State, USC, Utah, Washington, Washington State, among others.

Khairi Fortt, true junior, mega-recruit that Cal was nominally involved with early on. Forgot if he ever visited. Had offers from just about everybody.

Also, 2013 TE recruit: 5/4-star Adam Breneman

According to this article: http://collegefootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2012/07/23/penn-state-gets-fined-postseason-ban-scholarship-reduction/related/

Quote:

Additionally, Penn State athletes may be allowed to transfer wherever they like without penalty. NCAA is considering waiving scholarship limit for schools that accept PSU transfers as well, so the Association is really bending over backward for the athletes here.

So, no need for the thread, the best players are all going to transfer to U$C :bigpuke:

(Yes, this is sarcasm... mostly...)

The NCAA hasn't ruled on this but I am guessing (hoping) that they won't allow this for SC or other teams that have roster restrictions.

Breneman isn't signed-he didn't need today's ruling to not go to Penn St...

You are right, but let's hope today's announcement makes him reconsider and discover his love for the Golden Bears!

Yeah, you would hope so, right? As I said it's not really serious but I'd be lying if there wasn't a little part of my brain thinking it's somehow going to happen.

THE biggest immediate/realistic concern...
is that some of them don't transfer to Ohio State...

Looks like Adam Breneman is staying with Penn St.
