A little background. My son plays competitive 10yr old soccer. A parent had major surgery last week and was going to miss her sons two games on Saturday.

I was able to setup Ustream to show the games for mom while recovering at home.

With the clear interest, excitement, nostalgia, and genuine energy around laying the field over the next few days, how come Cal Athletics cant get a ustream site up with a live view for people rather than their once-a-day snapshots.

Set a stream from the current cam location and sell more than a few seats while people watch and get excited. Setup a stream from the University Club and sell just one seat and laugh to the bank wondering why we waited a year to do this!

cool technology to be sure. Now, can you develop a way for "competitive" and "10 year old" not to be used in the same sentence?

He's saying a live webcam would likely sell a few more seats because excitement or anticipation is built and people are sold on the new memorial after seeing progres..

Then he says throw up a stream from where the University Club would be and even one additional sale would offset the costs of adding a second stream.

I think you guys should allow for the possibility that you're overestimating the general public's interest in seeing the stadium construction work live.

This may or may not be the case, either way a live web cam would be a nice feature for the fans and could only help public interest, not hurt. But is anyone surprised that we aren't on top of this like other schools are?

However, the AD has made major strides in customer service and I do believe that they are getting better at marketing what we have. Baby steps. Fans who have been involved with the AD for years now know that there are a ton of new faces, in one short year a lot has changed.
