Got scolded for asking about Kobe Beef, so where's the Baked Alaska. Heck do I have to go to Elmendorf AFB?

Putting all that aside, the menu looks good. Though I really want the Gremlins back.

No Gremmies --- they tore down Cowell Hospital.

I remember the Cowell nurses asking me if I ever took Ecstacy, Acid or smoked weed when I visited for a sprained ankle once. My reply;...errr...uh...no :rollinglaugh:

Back on topic...the prices are better than I expected.

GO BEARS!

So you're gonna walk to La Vals, Fat Slice or Blondies and return to the game or just pay it on the spot?

Yeah that pizza price seemed to be the one out of line.. Well, maybe five bucks for coffee but who needs coffee with the excitement of Cal football at hand?? :-)

Considering what we had before, it still is a welcome sight.....I wonder how much Cal makes off the concessions; we could really rake in some dough eh?

What is a frigging "Stadium Dog"---an $expensive cold shriveled 4" weenie wrapped in a 5" stale bun? Pardon me while I hide my wallet and upchuck.

Are we not offering a TopDog, the pinnacle of greatness?

Pizza condiments? How about bufalo mozarella, fresh spinach and an egg option?

What is so "super" about the Super Nachos at that price? (chips, cheese, peppers....caviar or truffles...?)

Overall these look like excellent not so healthy offerings, but the water is way too expensive, and nix the cheese fries unless they are with real cheese...Shropshire Blue, etc.

How about the peanuts---are they raw peanuts fresh roasted on-site or just bagged, heated and peddled (5-years old)?

And what about a grilled brat? You got lamb or other chops? Tapas? Chicken with Thai Noodles?

How about the food wagons area?

Come on---play along with me here MB. The article in the Business Section of the SF Chron this morning was not convincing.

Food prices are reasonable, can't wait to try it out. So are they really going to call one of the eateries, "Fault Line Cafe"?

The Chron story mentioned that the Texan who will be running the show wanted things like sausage and pulled pork sandwiches, but was told that we Bears would really want the hummus.

I want the pork. I'm pretty underwhelmed by these offerings. I don't see me buying much of this stuff. $8 for a bag peanuts and a bottle of water ... I'll take a dozen.

Stadium Dog-Out, leftover trim from the slaughter house floor
Buffalo Chicken Sandwich-Out, some quasi trendy offering created in a food lab in middle America. We're not in Buffalo
Veggie Burger-Out let's face it. If you want this, you really don't want to be here anywhere
Chicken strips-Out, McD is better and cheaper
Rice Bowl-Out, what are we prisoners of war
Hummus-Yes because nothing says football like eating spackle

How about people trying the food first before having a fit and deciding it sucks?

These are the main concessions. There will be 2 Top Dogs, Boneheads BBQ and others. Their dog vendor's one of the better ones (Evergood?) and their 1/3 lb burgers will be grilled on the spot.

The food they served today was pretty dang good, too.

I seriously hope these are all tongue in cheek replies. I'll be quite happy to have significantly more variety than the previous options, which were generally limited to lukewarm dogs (at the same price, mind you, there's no increase there), pretzels, congealed nachos, popcorn, and candy. This of course assumes they weren't sold out by the time you get to the front of the line...at the beginning of halftime. As far as price goes for some of those items, welcome to the 21st century. On game day CMS has more people in the stadium than any A's or Giants game, and even at the new reduced capacity, not more than a few thousand shy of Candlestick. Prices are comparable.

Totally looking forward to having the option to eat at the game. My only disappointment will be if they've switched back to Pepsi from Coke, as I fear due to announcements regarding Pepsi's presence at fan appreciation day tomorrow.

Go Bears!

Please.

Currently Coke has 26% off all soft drink sales
Pepsi 15%
Diest Coke 15%
Diet Pepsi 8%

Funny I prefer regular Coke but like DieT Cherry Pepsi.

Recent studies have shown that Pepsi is not what it pretends to be. Pepsi is not actually an innocent refreshing beverage, it is actually a Communist plot for world-domination! Listen, and I will reveal to you dear reader how Communism is even now creeping into our homes and threatening innocent lives! Coca-Cola, the famous soft drink, is an American product. Read the excerpt from Wikipedia, and observe the knowledge I have attained.

“Coca-Cola is a type of carbonated soft drink sold in stores, restaurants and vending machines in more than 200 countries. It is produced by The Coca-Cola Company and is often referred to simply as Coke. Originally intended as a patent medicine when it was invented in the late 19th century by John Pemberton, Coca-Cola was bought out by businessman Asa Griggs Candler, whose marketing tactics led Coke to its dominance of the world soft drink market throughout the 20th century.”

Now as we all know Communists would like nothing more than to gain world dominance in any way possible. And how do you think they would act if they observed that their hated enemies, the Americans, were already controlling the market of soft-drinks all over the world? They would retaliate of course! Observe this next excerpt from Wikipedia:

“The word Pepsi comes from the Greek word "pepsi" (πέψη, which is a medical term, describing the food dissolving process within one's stomach. It is also a medical term, that describes a problem with one's stomach to dissolve foods properly.”

Is it not now obvious? The Communists had come up with the plan to flood the market with a cheap imitation of the already popular Coke, because they knew that the lousy taste-buds of the Americans would notice no difference, and there-by not caring whether they bought Coke or Pepsi. But then the Communists thought, “Why not add an almost undetectable side-effect?” And this is what they did! They have added a special poison into Pepsi that interferes with your bodies ability to digest food, there-by weakening their opponents! Notice also their evil humour by naming their concoction Pepsi! (Refer back to the second Wiki quote.) Below is yet another Wikipedia quote:

“Pepsi was banned from import in India in 1970 for having refused to release the list of its ingredients.”

See how the Communists refuse to list the ingredients? It is because if the people of earth saw the horrific plague that the Communists have unleashed upon the world, they would all rise up and band together to stop Communism. Below is yet another quote proving that Pepsi is an evil communist plot:

“In Russia, Pepsi initially had a larger market share than Coke but it was undercut once the Cold War ended. In 1972, Pepsico company struck a barter agreement with the then government of the Soviet Union, in which Pepsico was granted exportation and Western marketing rights to Stolichnaya vodka in exchange for importation and Soviet marketing of Pepsi-Cola. This exchange led to Pepsi-Cola being the first foreign product sanctioned for sale in the U.S.S.R..”

Notice how they grant Pepsi special privileges? It is because it is a drink or their own fermenting! So my dearest reader, now you have been informed of the evil ways of Pepsi and Communism, so I urge you now to do your part and help prevent global domination! Drink Coke, not Pepsi! Spread the word!:bluecarrot: How about it Mama Bear? Are you a Pepsi person?

How long do you want to ignore this user?
Actually the geo-politics of Pepsi vs Coke is pretty interesting. Don Kendall, Pepsi's Chairman in the late 60's-70's was a big supporter of Nixon and Nixon got him exclusive entree into the Soviet Union. The Russians had no money so traded Stolichnaya as barter. Of couse, Coke being an Atlanta company owned their own President-Jimmy Carter- who helped them with China resulting in their being first back in when relations were normalized. So, Coke and Pepsi were key agents and surrogates of the cold war triangle between the US, Soviet Union and the PRC. Although many people thought that this was backwards; Coke and Pepsi controlled the players, not the other way around.
CalBear68

Interesting that for years, Cal sold only Coca-Cola products at its sporting events and Stanfurd sold only Pepsi. Now, Cal has switched to Pepsi and I believe I heard that 'furd has gone over to Coke.

Would've preferred an Oakland original, Miller's Hot Dogs over Evergood; much, much tastier dogs. Only place I've seen them is at the Oak Coliseum, I imagine Evergood has a better handle on bidding process.

Any event, the prices are reasonable and next season the duds will be removed and something new will be inserted. $7 pizza, that helps off-set the reasonable rates for most everything else; something has to be the big margin driver. The prices could be worse, Disneyland/Airport prices anyone?
