I currently have Comcast internet and Directv. I can get economy tv plus the sports package and pay $20 more a month for Comcast, I can then stream the pac12 network over my computer. I can drop the tv portion as soon as Directv comes on board.
Not a perfect solution but I really hate to drop Directv(and still have 14 months on my agreement). Directv will have the pac12 network before the season is over and this is probably my least expensive way to get Cal games.

I would just make sure your Comcast changes have no contract, ie you do not commit Comcast TV for 12 months.

I don't think Comcast will give you any tv service without renting a box from them for $10-$20/mo.

If you are able to do this please post your total cost 'cause I'd be interested in this approach as well.

Good idea. I currently have DISH and Comcast internet and will probably follow your lead. I will likely have to go with this arrangement longer than you will, but it will still be worth it.

You do not need a box with economy level unless you want on demand(which you will have access to via the internet. And no contract.
I used to work at Comcast so i no the drill.

Is anyone having luck streaming Pac-12 from comcast/xfinity on their computer or ipad? Unfortunately comcast users can't use the Pac-12 ipad app, and the xfinity app won't let me view sports either. I'm watching the Utah game on my TV and thought I'd be able to watch football games on my ipad and computer as well but no such luck.

On some of these streaming threads it's reported (with references) that CC is now promising subscribers video access from their computers starting..(wait for it).. ... ....

But you do need to subscribe to a tier that gets P12N in order to stream it.

Nice! I haven't read all eleventy threads about the saga since I've been using comcast for a while now. Once we get through the (very) rough intro to the Pac-12 network, I think this will be great for teams and fans alike.

Can you give me a link to the "economy level" on their website?

Everything I've read and been told by their reps is that Comcast is 100% box-based now. (We went down this exact road with them earlier this month.)

I'd really like to be able to go this route, but I can tell I'm gonna have to walk them through it to have any chance...

The lowest price is at the bottom:

https://www.comcast.com/shop/buyflow2/products.cspx?&Inflow=1

I do not think that BASIC includes PAC12 however.

I just talked to Comcast and you need a box to get the PAC12 network.

I'd make sure 'economy' has p12 net. I remember being offered a deal for blast internet + economy tv for $80. Problem was no espn, and all the other good stuff which means no p12. Now maybe you can add sport pack on that, which would be perfect for you since you already get directv.

Comcast also runs non contract sign up promotions for starter dugital cable - the often run for 6 months which would get you through basketball. You could keep internet year round and cancel and pick up cable agian next year. I think after 4 months w/o a promo rate you qualify for a new teaser rate, but only if you are upgrading. Might be $30 a month or so, so if you get enough crap discounted through DTV, it might also be close to break even.

I too have DIRECTV and Comcast interent and basic cable with no box.

I talked to COMCAST today about getting PAC12 using their Digital Premier package which requires a box plus getting the sports channels (all 400#'s).

The cost including a HD DVR is 123.93 per month. The problem is, according to them, you cannot run 2 HD DVR off of one TV. So, being that I want to keep my DIRECTV until such a time as they offer the PAC12 at the lowest level package, Entertainment, at $55 per month, I will either get an AB switch or I will turn off my DIRECTV connection, if that is possible without doing any damage to the DVR.

I am going to be talking to an installation expert regarding my options.

Thanks for the link. Following it and entering my location info I don't think Pac-12 Net is included in the "Limited Basic" or "Digital Economy" packages, which seem to be the cheapest options. The channel grid I'm given shows the cheapest package that includes Pac-12 Bay Area is "Digital Starter," which is offered to me at $68.49/mo. standalone or $139.95/mo. as part of their "Starter XF Triple Play" (not offered as a "Double Play" bundle). I'm not sure if "Digital Starter" requires a box, but I think it does. Oddly the channel grid doesn't seem to list the Pac-12 national feed, or at least I can't find it.
