Can anyone confirm that this team did actually practice for a month prior to today?

Can anyone confirm that we actually have a coaching staff? Or are those guys on the sideline just cardboard cutouts? We either have sub-standard players or lousy coaches, or both.

Not piling on, but what is the last game where you watched and thought, "Wow! We really outsmarted that team." Or, "Wow! We looked so much sharper than that team."?

Sure we have had some nice wins, but in the last 3-4 years it has not been a case that you feel that the team was specifically better prepared or coached than the opposition. Maybe ASU last year? A couple gutty performances against Oregon looked like we had made significant adjustments to their scheme (but lost). There is nothing Cal is doing that other teams want to emulate. We are old school. And not even so good at being old school that we beat you through amazing execution. We just look stubborn, over-complicated, out of touch, sloppy, and inhibited.

I'll + that as well.....thanks, JT, for some good times early on.....thanks for your part in the new facilities and stadium renovation. But it's obvious we need someone else to take us to a higher level.

Now I'm on a bitter roll. But you hear of Tedford going to visit Meyer and this coach wanting tips from that coach. What coaches are coming to visit us and see how Tedford does X? What does this say about where he is on the cutting edge or even as a guru? Doesn't Cal, a leader in innovation across disciplines, deserve a coach who is also pushing the envelope? If we are going to go the "family & integrity" route okay--let's be a super smart, tough, old school team that NEVER makes mistakes. Otherwise, I want to be a crazy wacky "who ever thought of doing that before" team. We are nether. We're just becoming middle of the road boring. Let's at least lose eccentric.
