They are not buying the Maynard fake. He should keep it. He should get a good gain and keep the defense thinking about him on subsequent plays.

I like Tedford going for it right there, but dislike running Isi outside on 3rd and short.

Alex Logan -- you're simply not a playmaker so why are you gambling by conceding the outside!?

i'm not upset about that. Defense was in good position. Logan just has to know that he cannot get beat that bad and especially to the outside. His help is to the inside.

Tedford fears the QB getting hurt too much. Watch him after any play where Maynard runs, especially if he can talk to Maynard. Its clear he's telling Mayanrd that his job is to distribute the ball and not run with him himself.

I think that's part of why we won't call many "option" plays. Tedford will not risk a QB injury.

Funny thing is that all 3 major QB injuries Cal has had in the past 7 years. (Longshore '05, Longshore '07, Riley '10) occured with the QB standing in the pocket.

That was a ridiculous play by a special player.

My problem is not that the guy made a tremendous play, it is that I have ZERO faith in our offense's ability to score.

I'm thinking we don't score more than 13 points.
