This one is gonna feel like a Holmoe game: even in games we can win, we still lose.

why can't we just kick an effen field goal and win a game we played better than the opposition

Frustrating way to lose. Tedford ..did so good the whole game..then that decision to kick the FG...it was like all the good just went away.

Why did I expect this game to end any differently than that? Maynard = choke.

This board will be insufferable because it ended with two pet peeves.

But to be clear, this game was not lost by Tedford's 4th down decision or Maynard's INT.

It was lost by a failure to execute any number of instances - the FG's, the completely blown coverages, the dropped passes.

I disagree. Maybe tomorrow I will agree.

My goodness. What an Ahole you are. He played a GREAT game. Did everything you can ask of him.

A Pac12 div 1 school team w/o legit PKickers w/ HS game experience. Safeties (Logan in particular) were constantly missing assignments and the team couldn't adjust. We did ok inspite of them..

Yup - Maynard played a great game in spite of his line and the bounce snaps over and over again. The INT he threw, a D lineman dove at his feet so he had to throw backfooted.

apparently, i'm not a tOSU fan and i dont care when the opposing team misses an XP. and we've missed 2 kicks. oh wait, i mean 3. sit the f*ck down, darby.

Logan had a busted coverage. Maynard had a critical pick.

It's just a bitch ass move to blame a kicker for a loss. So get the twist out of your panties and sit the f down.

Sigh, such a winnable game. Three blown fg, a bad call reversing a td... Maynard was good but made the int at the worst possible moment. Moral victories suck.

He didn't have to throw the ball. He panicked and chucked it to Keenan. It was a horrible throw. He had a great game and nullified all of it with a bonehead play in the most critical drive.

I agree. He played a great game. The pick at the end, when he was trying to make something happen, was not nearly as devastating as THREE missed field goals and one terrible holding call that nullified a TD. For that matter, we could look to almost every snap that landed close to or on his shoelaces and missed blocks by #77. Zach was not the problem this game nor has he been the problem this season.

Not at all. Sometimes you play well enough to win and end up losing. You can't really pin it on one player or play. That's football.

Even if D'Amato had only missed 1 FG we still would have come up short. You can't expect a kicker to make every 40 yard FG attempt on the road. 0-3 is bad no doubt but it was not the game decider.

There is a lot positive to take from this game and move forward. The season looks a lot brighter after today. Thank god!

i didn't call out D'Amato for causing us to lose.

you can't quantify it, but i'll be damned if you're going to say there was no motivational and momentum consequences of him missing that 3rd FG--or any for that matter. simply points left on the table.

i never said it was only D'Amato's fault that we lost. but damn, his THREE misses put us in a sh*tty situation.

This game felt (to me) like the pre-2001 Holmoe.
Going into the 4th, whether with a small lead, tie, or small deficit, I just don't feel like we can actually pull it out. It's like waiting for the other shoe to drop. I just know, that eventually, when we must score the drive will eventually be stalled, and when we must stop we'll give up a big play.
After a while, you feel it, "is something bad about to happen here? If not, the next play? Maybe the next drive?"
