Not enough practice. It forces our QB to lose his vision on the initial movements of defense during the first split second after snap which is critical for a successful passing play.

Terrible that a SENIOR is still pulling that crap. Seriously, how many low snaps were there....15? 20?

IN Schwenke's defense, he's been a guard his entire time at Cal, and only this season made the switch with the injury to Galas. Very disappointing nonetheless, screws up the entire rhythm for the QB; another issue for him to worry about and process.

I just went outside to practice long snaps with my wife. I was perfect from 7 to 15 yards. I'm 6' 185", Cal grad '69.
Can't be any worse than what we now have.
Miss you, Georgio.

Glad your snaps to the wife were spot on, but were you still able to block the eight year old that was blitzing? Sorry, I can't find the emoticons to indicate humor.
I've thought since last year, Maynard should be under center, as Boller and Rodgers were for every single snap of their careers, if I'm not mistaken. We never did long snaps until that OC from Northwestern came to Cal. The long snap seems to me to gave Maynard much more time to see the field, but also more time to stare down receivers and let his "happy feet" go to work. I didn't see the dancing so much today, and I think that might have been because of the bad snaps. With Maynard, the more time to see the field, the more time to dance.

That shortstop line was absolutely hilarious and spot on. The majority of snaps were 1 hoppers. Boy I hope the center blocks well. Otherwise he's not doing much right. Maynard did a GREAT job of fielding them all and I think overall played a great game.

Schwenke was the first team center before Galas got hurt. They were already planning on making that switch.

That "dance" is what QBs are taught to do as proper footwork:

Thanks for the videos. Watching them, it is apparent that those QB's do "the dance" rhythmically and at a slower rate, with the QB able to plant his feet in between steps at any point. When Zack dances, it is more of a frenzied tap dance that doesn't allow him to plant his feet.
