Rooting for USC or Stanford?

I'm rooting for USC but hope that Barkley, Woods and Lee get beaten up and sore.
Stanford is in the Pac 12 North division and besides they are the Furd so I'm genetically programed to root against them.
Of course, I hate USC, too. Hard to root for either side but good to see your enemies fighting.

I don't care who wins (ok a Furd lose is good for us) I'm just hoping Furd gives us something to game plan with next week

Have to root for USC--they are not in our division. We need SC to beat Stanford, oregon and anyone else in teh Pac-12 North other than us. Plus Stanford is our rival, not anyone else. Stanford is 4-1 in the last 5 matchups with SC(we are 1-9). Stanford needs to be taken down (then we need to win next week).

Well I didn't mean to equate a football game with war or assert that Stanford or USC are my enemies in the same sense as Iraq under Saddham Hussein or Iran under Ayatollah Khomenhi were my enemies. You are familiar with the concept of a metaphor, right? Sorry if my feeble attempt at humor offended the political sensibilities of those who support murderous tyrants and their armies.

I always root against U$C and Notre Dame, so my decision is simple. Down with the Toejams.

I don't support murderous tyrants but I do feel for the million plus people who died in an unprovoked invasion supported nonchalantly by countries around the world. People from that war are still suffering from the use of chemical weapons in that war and it's a bad metaphor.

I will respond in kind. I think USC simply because we want the north to do as poorly as possible. In almost every scenario it is better for furd to lose. Hopefully we win enough that it doesn't really matter though

I almost always root against USC, Notre Dame and Stanford. When these teams play each other I am confronted with a moral dilemna. I try to resolve the dilemna by rooting for the outcome that most benefits Cal.

I want USC to win handily (and I want no one to get hurt--would like to beat them next without extra help). But the handily part might help them underestimate us next week. After we beat USC, I hope USC loses every game and we can be credited for the dismantling of Troy.

Me too, I always root for the Furd against SC in football, lesser evil by far. I'll admit that Im enjoying watching the beating that Barkley has been getting.
