Yah that was the sideline reporter, former UCLA player Ryan Nece.

At the stadium they replayed that hit several times throughout the game...

Pretty dirty, though not unlike what Cal players (or any player who has opportunity) does though - see DeCoud vs UCLA on a Jackson punt return for a touchdown... almost killed himself and the other guy.

Happens all the time... Should be a flag, even if it is not "dirty," anyway.

I think the penalty is called targeting. It should be a penalty. Delivering concussions should be banned from football, and yes, the Decoud hit should be illegal in this day and age even if the players and the spectators still want it.

Exactly...

It is a tough situation, and the fans love it, but it is seriously bad for the players (both)...

It is interesting that Cal fans forget that we replayed Decouds hit on this site over and over and no one said Cal was a Dirty team because of it.

Behind us some jerk nugget talked about how they should expect to get hurt and get off the field etc...

My girlfriend said I could not remove his eyes from his head... so that was good for him.

(edit: USC is a dirty team though... lets not confuse my stance )

Ronnie Lott Jr. needed to keep his hole shut since his perspective was limited to the side-line, and didn't have benefit of reply or, a different angle. Nice comeback by fellow 'ruin Glenn Parker though, "No, it wasn't Ryan, that was illegal."

It was a penalty, nothing we haven't seen before but, with head injuries becoming a larger concern, Targeting was the right call and will be called much more so as the season continues.

What's the definition of "targeting"? First time I'd seen that call.

I really don't like all these 'old school' ex players who just don't acknowledge that what was LEGAL when they played isn't legal anymore. It's really simple actually. It's one thing to say it's hard for players to retrain themselves to hit differently (ie properly) when they have been coached differently in the past. I get that - it doesn't always make someone a bad person to revert back and nail a guy with the helmet. But it definitely is illegal now.

Oh and Glenn Parker was a Wildcat.

Waiting for some good news regarding Lasco's health. I didn't even know that he might have been hurt.

The dam toejams have a tradition of playing dirty since the 1950's if not before. There is absolutely no evidence of sportsmanship from those jackasses. Personally, I wish everyone associated with that filth would disappear from the planet. Then we could bulldoze and sterilize the footprint of their "school".

He wobbled off on his feet but with staff holding him up just to be sure. He clearly had his bell rung, woozy and they took him right to the bench for concussion testing

Didn't Sincal post something with Twitter handles for most of the players (published by $C no less)?
