Evil v. Evil. Unfortunately, they can't both lose. But if it was up to you, who would you have win the game?

Furd to win*gag*.
It seems like we will be competing with UW for recruits and for which big program is least mediocre. It's prob in our best interest for them to lose.
Oregon is going to do well regardless
The Tree does there own thing in the recruiting world for the most part.
We will most likely continue to out recruit OSU and Wazzu
UW is in a similar situation to us, we can't have people buying into that "team on the rise" mantra.
UW needs to lose.

Would like to believe Stanford is not as good as they looked against USC.

Stanford is our rival. Many friends and family and co-workers around here went there. They are a fine academic institution and not evil.
Now Washington, they ARE evil. From the ex-USC coach right on down to Tosh and the fact that they are a cruddy 2nd rate school and are in a place that resembles Gotham City...pure evil!!!!

edit: Admittedly, since the furd looks like the stronger team, having beat $C, I suspect it helps us more if the dogs knock them off. But that doesn't matter to me. I hope furd lays a wooping on them.

I still don't believe furd is as good as people are thinking. they seem to have sc's number, plus the game was at home. lets see how the new QB does in his first real away game.

The only way I could bring myself to even watch this game was to put money on UW to win (+225).

I know UW is satan, but if furd is able to beat a somewhat decent UW team, in what will be an extremely hostile environment, at night, then its going to mean very very bad news for Cal for this year and possibly the next few years. It would mean that furd is actually pretty legit, and its not just Luck and Harbuagh. that would be bad. really bad.
UW on the other hand, who cares if they win a few games. sark is going to sink that program eventually. furd is the much bigger threat in the long run.

I understand the home-field advantage they have, even at the Clink, but you can't be serious that beating UW is now the measure of whether Stanford (or any team, for that matter) is legit or not. UW? Just look at their Oline, down four starters from the spring. Their running game is weak, and Polk is long gone. Their D, while improved, is nothing to get too excited about. I don't see it.
If Stanford does win, I'll be happy to win a P12 road game, but it won't be the litmus test it is for you. And for the record, as good as I think my Cardinal are this season, I still don't see us getting over the Oregon hump this year. Here's hoping I'm right on the former and wrong on the latter.

I want UW to win because I don't want a scenario where Furd goes to the Rose Bowl. UW is the worse team, so I want everyone to just beat up on each other.
UW wins and both QBs goes down to minor, but lingering injuries would be the best case scenario.
Of course, what will happen is that Furd will dominate UW and then UW and Furd come into Memorial and dominate us. /CRYCRYCRY

I don't see the UW win alone legitimizing stanford. however, a win in a hostile environment legitimizes their win against SC in my mind. If furd loses, then the SC game may have just been a fluke.
a simple way of saying it is this; a lot of people now see stanford as being legit because they beat SC. I'm withholding judgment till they can do it on the road. truly good teams, like Oregon, just go into a place like seattle and roll. i think stanford is going to struggle mightily tonight...i'm really hoping i'm right.

Since I am too lazy to come up with a new response, I will re-post what I said on the Insider Board:
This year, and for this game only, I will suspend my default position of rooting against the Furd in every game.
I want the Furd to beat UW by 100 points, have a team of robber barons build a train and drive it through the center of Husky stadium, run over that damned dog, and then back up and run over the entire student section while playing All Right Now at sufficient decibel levels to shatter every plane of glass on Lupoi's boat and sink it to the bottom of Puget sound.
That is all.

I don't understand why you would feel better about them being undefeated both before and after we play them, but if that's what floats your boat, more power to you.
