I've checked the downtown schedule and it says Fremont trains at 10:08, 11:08, and 12:08. Will they put on extra trains? 11:08 and 12:08 means plus-minus how many minutes? Is there a later sweeper train? Do these two last times guarantee that you can connect with a Dublin train?

Thx for any practical help.

BART might schedule additional trains. If I were in your shoes, I'd call BART Operations to try and find out this critical piece of information.

I wouldn't want to have to rely on hitting one of three trains in the last 2 hours before the system closes down.

I see trains at 10:48pm, 11:08pm, 11:28pm, 12:08am and 12:30am going from downtown berkeley to dublin with a transfer at bayfair (you can transfer anywhere before the bayfair too, unless on the last train). Looks like the dublin train is scheduled to arrive ~3-4 minutes after the fremont train... I don't think they can hold a train there if the other is late because they have a schedule to keep and the station cannot have two trains stopped that going the same direction. However, for the last train of the night, I think they do guarantee the connection, but you would have to make sure you transfer at bayfair because it would be waiting at the northbound track even though it's going south. They can only do that for the last train of the night because for the rest of the day, they need the northbound track for northbound trains.

I don't see them adding extra trains (have they ever done that?), but I'd hope they know about the game and at least have some extra cars on the scheduled trains.

The BART trains run every 20 minutes on Saturday night, not once an hour. My guess would be that they'll add some extra service after the game, or at least longer trains, but you never really know with BART.

BART adds trains for A's games and Raiders games. Why shouldn't they add trains for Cal games?

BART usually adds trains for Cal games and also holds them at DT Berkeley BART to get max capacity. BART schedule says the last Fremont train leaves DT Berkeley at 12:30 a.m.

I did a little poking around on google, and it does look like BART added event trains for the stanford and oregon games in 2010. Not sure how that works for someone going to dublin, but it would clear the Downtown Berkeley station out which would mean there's less of a chance of the trains getting behind schedule and missing transfers.

Chances are very good, given the team's stellar performances of late, that a significant portion of a diminishing audience will be leaving CMS long before the game's end.

There is a bit of misinformation here.

Fremont Trains are leaving Downtown Berkeley at 10:08 for every 20 mintues, 10:28, 10:48, 11:08, 11:28, 11:48, 12:08am, and then 12:30am. You have to transfer to a Dublin/Pleasanton train, but you can't transfer to the Dublin train anywhere, it's coming from San Francisco, and transfers are only possible at Lake Merritt, Fruitvale, Coliseum, San Leandro, and Bay Fair.
EDIT: ColoradoBear1 points out below that if you wait until the 12:30am train at Berkeley, you MUST transfer at Bay Fair.
It looks like the wait after get off the Richmond-Fremont train for the Dublin train is 14 minutes.

That being said, my experience with BART at Cal games is that the schedule is off right after the game. BART runs longer trains, waits for them to fill up at Downtown Berkeley, so I would think the schedule would be off. But there should be trains AT LEAST every 20 minutes at Downtown Berkeley going to Fremont, and longer trains for awhile after the game.

BART quick planner here: http://www.bart.gov/

Enter Departing station (Downtown Berkeley) and Destination (Dublin/Pleasanton) and date and time.

Yeah, good correction on the transfer points not being anywhere, though I was mostly trying to say that someone can transfer at stations other than Bayfair for every train BUT the LAST one of the night. On the last one, it has to be at bayfair because it comes from pleasanton (NOT SF) and and turns around at bayfair and it would be a bad mistake to get off somewhere else because no other train would come until morning.

Thanks to the several who have supplied information. This nuanced data might be important. When I first asked I was still working with what they have posted at the Berkeley station, which only shows hourly. Let's hope they are all party trains.
