Actually didn't even notice it from the west side. But to be honest, I sense a shift in the spirit performance, and I don't like it. Wasn't too thrilled about the Dance Team (yeah, I'm older) when it started up, but if we start seeing more flag waving, cheerleader tossing, megaphone cheering crap like almost every other school does, I'd be royally ticked. This isn't high school, or some SEC-clone with heavily made-up, ribbon-tied-in-the-hair 'song girl' university. It's THE god-damned University of California, and it should stand for something special. Not too many years ago we had clever, inventive 'mic-men' (Kate, where are you when we need you? Does anyone remember Bob Tuck (who might have been sitting several seats away from me in HH on Saturday)?) Now, apparently the students who do that, from what I've read here and other places, don't have a clue. What's next - a horse, ridden around the stadium after every score?

SO KNOCK IT OFF ALREADY! (okay, end of old fogey rant ........)
