Led by former Golden Bear Bob Melvin

Six outs to go ... To tie the series and bring it back to the bay

Wow back and forth the last few innings. Great game. Hopefully Cespedes can get a hit here.

Everthing is magnified in the postseason. 9 times out of 10 Coco Crisp doesn't miss that fly ball

Oh well .... Gotta play well in Oakland

Crisp not catching the ball was awful but Kottaras passed ball and the failure of all three bullpen guys to match their regular season performance set the stage

Oakland A's postseason heartbreak: different year, same flavor.

Short postseason for BA baseball. Gnats will lose in 3 or 4. What a shame.

this is where the 2-3 format is really screwing us over. doolittle and cook (both making their playoff debut) don't give up 3 runs if that game is played in oakland

Yeah, who's bright idea was it to give the team with the worse record home-field advantage in games 1 & 2?

Sometimes, you've gotta put equity in front of convenience, Bud Selig.

Apparently thanks to Bud and the owners coming up with this "2 wild card" scheme after the playoff schedule had been set, this was the only way they could do it.

Though no one has adequately explained to me why this is the case, given that there was an extra travel day in between the Wild Card games and the start of the Divisional round.

Minor edit to your post to reflect what I think really happened. Ugh. Hey MLB, there are these things called airplanes......

Tigers annual payroll for Cabrera, Fielder, and Verlander:
$64 million.
