The Press Box building was open today to the public. It's probably the only time I'll ever get to see University Club level. All I can say is, "Wow."

Unfortunately, the SAHPC was not open but may be open to the public at a future date.

Also learned that there will be a long term solution for the net posts situation. They left the posts at the south end zone because they need them for practice.

You are kidding, aren't you? Is that too a secret?

How did they do it? Did they have everyone assemble at a predetermined time and lead everyone upstairs, or was it just open access all day to anyone?

It was announced at the game last night.

No, I missed my chance at the stadium tour for media because I was working at my other job. On gamedays I'm in the student section [and enter through the back gate at the top of the hill near Witter], so I've never had a chance to walk through the insides of the stadium yet.

Seen one hallway inside the SAHPC. It was amazing.

This was part of Cal's "Open House" part of Homecoming, announced at the game last night. I was there when it opened at 2pm, and they told us there were two options: wander around by yourself (there were docents everywhere) or follow one guy as a tour. I chose option 1 and wandered around. Took the elevator to the top (8th floor), and was blown away by both the views to the west (relatively clear day so could see SF and a good portion of the Bay), and then to the east, looking down to the field. Man, I wish I had a few extra thousand dollars to throw at UC so I could afford a couple seats here! Fantastic view of the field.

I walked down a flight to the Press Box Area, and was politely told that THAT area was not open to the public. So I went down to the main floor and looked around there (I think that was the Stadium Club). It was all sharp and clean and looking fantastic. Even saw Sandy B. there and congratulated her on last night's win.

I got a chance to go in the press box. What a set up. Awesome view plus a kitchen/catering area where these fat slobs can feast on free food and drink.

My wife saw that the stadium was open for tours on the Cal homecoming website. To bad we live so far away. I would have enjoyed watcing the Blue Angels from the University Club.

Next time I can get to Berkeley is around Xmas. By then, will CMS be open for anyone to walk through or will it always be restricted to Cal students and staff or only on football game days? In other words, will I ever be able to tour it if I cannot make a scheduled tour?

I went to the open house, thinking I'd look around for 20-30 minutes or so. Ended up staying there for about 90 minutes! Couldn't get enough of that view from the 8th floor. Sat in the chairback seats for a while too - they are really comfy! I probably wouldn't want to stand up much if I were watching a game from those seats.

Great views don't hurt either (taken during the game).

I don't know whether some of the stadium will be open to the public, but I'd be VERY surprised if the three clubs are open.
