Kam Jackson: an observation

Not since Dante Hughes have we had a corner who played the ball in the air the way Kam did Saturday. Squid was great but he was much better in playing the receiver and was able to knock down a lot of passes. He struggled to turn his head around in coverage often and was able to make up for that with spectacular tight coverage.

If Kam plays early and often there could be some big plays given up as he is not perfect by any means. That said there is bound to be more than a few interceptions as well. He has that knack that any truly great corner has, to turn his head at just the right time.
I think he'll be a great one

He has the instincts of a wide receiver-great hands, and ability to locate his feet and body in relationship to the ball in flight

The L.A. Times pointed out that he was the third leading receiver of UCLA passes.

Ouch. Nothing like the home town rag twisting the knife.

Nice to know he got more catches than Jordan Payton.

He got 3 picks but I'm not hoping on the band wagon just yet. From my seating near the north endZone it looks like 2 of his interception was less of his ability to go up and get the ball and more of Hudley mistaking him for a UCLA receiver. Im torrenting the game now so until I can confirm my initial thoughts are tentative.

Also 3 more than Shaq Thompson.

Shaq got a pick, but it was a fluke. Ball was tipped in the air by another defender.

2 more than Shaq, then. Who did Thompson pick off, Josh "trying to follow Luck's footsteps" Nunes?

Mariota

Back to Jackson, I was very impressed with him last year also in the limited time he played. I think when he and McClure are the starting CBs they're gonna lock it down.

Not too shabby for a 2nd stringer, eh?

Congrats!

Nice pick-up Kam J. A hat trick of picks is EXTREMELY rare.
