I tried streaming the PAC 12 Now app thru my apple TV, but starting this week, the home share icon stopped showing up with the app. I noticed there was an update on Oct 12th. Is anybody else having this issue?

so awesome when the app "updates" strip features. i always read the most recent reviews and read the fine print before updating apps now

This is how I watch it and it worked for me last night.
I use the Airplay controls from the "task bar" to output it to Apple TV.

Same for me. Worked great and my 3rd generation iPad is updated with the most recent iOS.

I'm obviously seriously challenged when it comes to this stuff. I have a first gen iPad and the airplay icon isn't showing up on the PAC 12 Now app. It only shows the sharing icon and play icon.
Thanks for your patience!

Question for using the Pac12 app and Apple TV:
1. I have Directv, which does not carry the Pac12 network, yet...
2. Does one need a TV network (Dish, Comcast, etc.) that carries the Pac12 network before I can use the Pac12 App and Apple TV?
Thank you.

Press the home button twice and where you see all the running apps, swipe all the way over to the left and you will find the icon for Apple TV icon. Then enable mirroring and you'll be able to see the game that way. The screen wont fill your TV like it does from the app directly, but its better than nothing.

Ah, a topic dear to my heart, but which unfortunately (to date) leaves me unfulfilled. Here's what you need:
1. A TV subscription with a cable or satellite company that carries the Pac-12 Network. http://pac-12.com/AboutPac-12Enterprises/ChannelFinder.aspx will show a list of providers.
2. An Internet connection.
3. Here's where the waters muddy a bit: ALL providers work with a PC (Windows, Mac, laptop, desk-top). MOST providers also provide a straightforward way to use the iPad or Android devices. Just navigate to the Pac-12 Network site, and enter your cable-tv credentials, and BAM! you're on-line and streaming. Once streaming to the iPad, you can AirPlay to the TV (via AppleTV, or an Android App on GoogleTV). But if you are UNLUCKY enough to be a Comcast Cable TV subscriber, you'll have to use the Xfinity-TV App running on either the iPad or Android. And these two Apps DO NOT SUPPORT the Pac-12 Network streaming feed. So you cannot watch the Pac-12 Network on your iPad or GoogleTV, and you therefore cannot AirPlay anything.

Not just you. I was getting crazy rebuffering not just on the iPad but also on the computer. (On the computer it would suddenly start playing what had gone on 45 seconds before and then skip back and forth again, and go from super low quality to HD.) I did a speedtest and was getting my normal 55 mbps down (comcast blast) and all other streaming services worked perfectly, so definitely not a problem on my end. Hopefully they fix it for the next Cal game.

REPLY FROM PAC-12 SUPPORT:
The Pac-12 Now iPhone app supports AirPlay. Start a video on the Pac-12 Now iPhone app, then you will see the Apple's familiar triangular AirPlay icon in the player controls if there is an AirPlay compatible device (e.g. AppleTV) in range.
In the future, we plan to build AirPlay support into the iPad app as well, but it won't be right away. In the meantime, you should be able to enable AirPlay Mirroring from your newer iPad - here is a how-to from Apple:

I hope this is helpful,

Any TV worth anything made in the last few years will have an optical output. Connect that to your receiver.blungld;842537942 said:
