David Shaw is likeable. Harbaugh would have taken it to us. Shaw might be the most tolerable opposing head coach in the conference. Hope he sticks around for a while. I think with a good HC at the helm, we'll hand him a few losses.

Yup, it was so nice of Shaw to not embarrass Tedford to boost the chances of Tedford coaching in the Big Game next year. Very classy.

Shaw is a very likeable guy, just like Tedford. I think he will turn out just like Tedford in other areas also - fundamental, conservative play calling, low key, committed to the student athletes. He's still benefiting from the momentum, both on the field and recruiting, that Hairball left behind. Next 2-3 years will be a real test of how he turns out as a coach. But yeah he's a real gentleman.

Shaw must be the calmest D1 football coach in the nation

Not sure how he will turn out in the end but shaw went to Stanford not Fresno state for undergrad. He's only been at the helm for a few years. I'm going to go out on a limb and say he has more potential for change and development than what we've seen from our head coach. JT thinks he's smart that's why he is so stubborn but he is not. And this is football not rocket science, Bobby Petrino is considered a genius (well was).

Shaw has me a little nervous. His conservative playcalling and insistence on sticking with Nunes through thick and thin make warning bells go off. If Cal DB's could catch, you would have had multiple picks yesterday. Nunes is a liability.

Shaw didn't really impress me at all. We gift-wrapped him 14 points on the fumble and the punt return. The blown coverage was the only real concession by the defense.

But of course, his offensive woes pale in comparison to ours.

LOL from a Cardinal...let me be the weird Cal guy who defends Nunes, well kind of. He still is a first year QB finding his way. He was awesome against Arizona when he had to be and destroyed USC in the 2nd half. He was lousy against ND with those picks, otherwise you win that game since you outplayed them for 50 of the 60 minutes. Give him some time to settle in and then see if he'll makes the grade. He certainly has some upside potential unlike our QB who is basically the same guy as last year and the same guy who played at Buffalo.
