Verlander has thrown a lot of pitches. That doesn't hurt even though he's a stout as they come stamina wise.

Verlander sh*t the bed just like Cliff Lee did two years ago. Both were invincible in the playoffs and then puked on their shoes in the WS. Way to represent the AL Verlander. You can book the WS for the Giants. If Zito and Scutaro were not on the team I would hang myself right now.

His opposing managers this postseason have shown him the reason not to leave a faltering starter in the game too long. Dusty Baker left Mat Latos on the mound at least 2 batters too long, and paid the price when Posey took him deep to put the game away. Mike Matheny left his starter in the game too long in every Cardinals loss and allowed the Giants to bust the game open every time.

Bochy's quick hook is probably his greatest benefit as a postseason manager.
