Can someone explain why Oakland Comcast KTVUD 702 and KTVU 2 in 94618 has broadcast all Giant Post Season games without announcer (Joe Buck) sound?
The pre-game is a bit obnoxious, but the game itself is kind of like being there since all one can hear is the live action.

94611, Berkeley and Walnut Creek Comcast broadcasts, I'm told, include the announcers.

Fremont has sound on Comcast 702.

Sound ok on my Comcast in Oakland.

You guys don't get it....
I got sound of the game....cracking of bat, ball hitting glove, crowd noise, crowd singing anthem and GBA, venders hawking,etc....just no announcer mic.
Of course, commercials are loud and clear.
I'm not the only one, KTVU blog has others mentioning the same......very strange.

So far, EVERY post game.

Because Buck is the biggest jerk in the business, and anything's better than his self-righteous, egomaniacal viewpoint?

I am 90% sure there is something wrong with your stereo sound. Most likely the left or right side is out, or the balance has been switched to one side exclusively. See if you can check your sound source's balance. If that doesn't fix it, there may be a problem with one side of your sound.

Then again, I imagine you would have checked other channels and not noticed a problem, which would pretty much negate my theory. In which case, I have no idea.

I hate Joe Buck. I'm going to go kick one of my speakers in.

Nice try, but......

I have a plasma Panasonic 42 directly connected to my comcast motorola HDTV box as well as through my 7:1 surround system.

All other stations, including digital music works great. Last mondaysMNF was fine. Only occured with Giant post season games on Fox.

It doesn't matter whether I use TV audio alone or 7:1 surround, no Fox commentary present. When the game goes to commercial, TV and surround sound works fine. As soon as it comes back from commercial....even the short intro shots and logo shots...silence. When the game resumes...TV has live sound, no commentary. Surround sound has GREAT live sound, no commentary. For some reason the the Fox commentary sound channel is not being sent through.....or not being decoded.

????

Hmmmm.......Interesting..... I'll check that tonight. But I guess I won't really know until Game 3.

I had Game 2 on DVR.
Switched audio to "English", and it went from the live experience to Buck constantly blabbering.
Got to say, the whole experience was pretty weird.

Cool to know I can have a choice.
