I posted the comments below in a different thread. But does anyone know our offense's 3rd (and 4th) down success rate? And our defense's? Does anyone know how this rates nationally?

[From a different threat: maybe it is just projection but to me it looks like our team dreads 3rd down as much as I do. I think the really good teams like that challenge and like demoralizing the other team's defense with clutch 3rd (& 4th) down play... our team looks lame on 3rd down; and on the opposite side of the ball: it can be 3rd and 30 and you know the other team will turn it into a first down.]

so I think this reflects lack of having "the mental edge". But I have zero insight. Anyone able to give an informed reason for why we suck both on offense and defense on 3rd down conversion?
