That picture is BAD. I was wondering why they weren't showing the crowd on TV. Espn is probably not happy with the turnout for this game.

Had a quick view of the crowd with 5 minutes left in the 2nd quarter. It's definitely not a full house. I'd say the stadium is 50-60%full from the one shot of the stands.

It'll happen when you schedule a game during rush hour on a work day.
Of course you "fans" are home complaining about the empty stands. It's filled in pretty good for a Friday night game. You're missing a good game!!! Go Bears!!!
It doesn't look all that bad on TV.....though we might thank selective camera work for that.
And we are great FB fans. We would love Game Day to be here were we good????? Why would ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU ever come here for anything. Win we show, lose we are empty. Ask yourself?
BG13 if tonight is your concept of a good game we are on opposite pages, two mediocre at best teams playing a pretty dull game. WE are no longer very good entertainment.

No, but rush hour and work certainly made a lot of them late. Obviously we're not going to have an enormous turnout given our record, but the second half attendance is much better than it was at kickoff.

Absolutely. Those of us who work more than 100 miles away could not get to the game.
Friday night is for high school. Colleges should stick to Saturday games.
I"m guessing there were, maybe, 35,000 there.

The crowd was definitely late to arrive. While it was our lowest attendance of the season, it wasn't terrible considering the circumstances (maybe 40k?). I wish there was more to cheer about.

Maximum actual attendance tonight was about 30,000. About what you'd expect for two lousy teams playing on a Friday night.
We had a "fan out". When we arrived at 5:45 there were only about three rows of students in the house and about 15,000 in the stadium but the crowd kept coming and I thought closer to 40,000.
42000 final number for attendance. Pretty poor. Low student participation - I thought the student section would be filled - Friday night, fun thing to do, even if it is for a poorly performing team.

The Holmoe era has come back full circle. I remember these rounded up or down clean attendance figures in 2001.

Agreed. Tonight was without question the weakest student section performance in the past 10 years.

You can only put out a crap product so many times before the students are going to find other things to do with their weekends.
On the bright side, there was lots of room to spread out.
But apparently many missing fans sold their tickets to UW. One Fuskie even brought his family of six, not a particularly bright idea considering the growing hate between the two schools over the past year. I'm sure his four precocious little girls learned some new words last night. They didn't return after halftime.

The "growing hatred" is only on our side because of this stupid grudge against one of our coaches going to UW. I'm sure UW fans couldn't give a sh*t.

The new seats are much more attractive than the old wooden ones.

I remember the game in 97 or 98, that a ton of us went to see the other team ... that was Nebraska.
