It was a very nice run. No doubt Tedford drew it up to go up the middle but Isi cut it outside. That's where he should be running.

Not sure Bridgford is as fast, but he definitely has a much better "pocket sense." He seems to know when he needs to move in the pocket and what lanes will be open to him than Maynard ever did.

But I always felt that Maynard was more of an option (run first) QB, so he never developed the right instincts to handle throwing from the pocket. That was one of the things I hated about the past 2 seasons. Tedford tried to force Maynard to be a pocket QB, and that just wasn't something that Maynard could do well. When the offense was shifted to allow Maynard to use his natural running instincts, Maynard tended to play better.

Isi doesn't have the pure speed to run sweeps. But he can make runs off-tackle if he's set up to run at the hole. Isi definitely saw the hole and made the right cut on that play.

I don't think Patterson is coming back, and he might be out for the season. What's sary is that no one hit him. It looked like he twisted his knee trying to match Isi's cutback and his knee coudn't take it.

That was just a horrible series.

first and goal - run up the middle
second and goal - sweep to the wide side of the field
third and goal - pass to the TE at the 3 yard line, incomplete. TE was double-covered and was unlikely to make the endzone even if the pass was accurate.

And sadly, that's the second time Bridgford has missed a fairly short pass. He missed Harper on a 3rd down pass earlier by missing low and to the left.
