sorry Bobby..there are probably more than a few of us who have seen this board turn angry, mad, nasty, and personal with our previous head coach..I can't wait to see how they react to Coach X being hired without their approval..

Some names to watch for Cal: Chris Petersen; Mike MacIntyre; Willie Taggart; Gary Anderson; Greg Roman & Tim DeRuyter.

If you believe Gorcey, Sandy already has a short list of Petersen, Rivera, Hue Jackson (with Dewayne Walker as DC).

Sounds like the main criteria follow the same model as the Mike Montgomery hire. An experienced HC who can immediately turn things around, and has enough of a "splash" to impact recruiting and sell some Seat Licenses.


These guys immediately come to mind:

Chris Peterson
Ron Rivera
Bobby Petrino (hope that we dont go down this route)

Some of the others that have been mentioned (Taggart, SJSU, Franklin) dont seem to fit the exact mold of sustained success and a splash hire.

Sonny Dykes is kind of a "tweener" - although I think that he would have success.

Basically I think that we can eliminate most OC/DC guys that are linked to the job, as we will pursue someone that has illustrated that they can run a successful program from top to bottom
