on the field of play and will once again get back to a coaching comfort level that he can live with. It is obviously sad that he won't be the legacy Cal coach that we all wanted, but watch out..he'll be back and find success somewhere else.

his phone is already ringing I'm sure. He will definitely land on his feet. He just needs to decide if he still wants to be a HC.

There are a TON of great coordinators that finally make the determination that they are better suited to just focus on their specialty. Not saying that JT needs to do this, but it's an option that alot of teams would provide to him

Of that, I have no doubt. I would hate to see him go to U$C. That would be really, really bad.

Considering the talent $C gets... perhaps they can figure out Tedford's playbook... and if that happens ... yikes!

I hope he comes back to Cal (after the wounds have healed) in some sort of management capacity. He would be a great ambassador for the university as he already is. Maybe if he got away from the 100 hour weeks, he can effectively manage something somehow. He certainly earns the respect of everyone he interacts with ...

I hope he takes a year off to get physically and mentally rested, and that he can reflect on what went wrong without the daily pressures. Certainly, the gigantic, frequently changing playbook needs to go, and younger players with talent need to play sooner in a simpler system.

He will find success if he learns that the PLAYERS win games, not Xs and Os.

If he can learn how to lead and not just blow off the emotional state of the team
If he can learn how to lead and not just blow off academics
etc etc

I think he will be able to figure it out, or he will retire. He looks pretty tired.

No way. Different offensive philosophy. It would make a lot more sense for him to coach with Kiffin since they both like to run the same type of offense.
