I would love if someone would break out responsibilities of head coach and coordinators...

I guess what I am trying to get at is why some posters are leary of a coordinator who has never had headcoach experience being hired and it got me thinking about how I have no idea all the other responsibilities that might come with the position.

The buck stops with the head coach.
His most important job is to be aware of the big picture of his football program. He needs to know what parts of the program are doing well, and thus keep the components and assistants that are responsible for it. He needs to know what parts of the programs are underperforming, and he needs to fix them without hesitation. He needs to prioritize.
I think Tedford failed miserably at that.
When he tinkers with an offense that routinely scores 40+ points, but ignores the special team (under Alamar) and defense for years, he wasn't doing his job right.

Everything.
If he doesn't do it personally its because he hired someone to assist him or do it for him.
