student funds but then she said that it was 100% through athletic revenues. Is this code for Donors or is it as she seemed to imply that we will fund the buyout through future ticket sales. If so, yikes!!!!!

Athletic Revenues come from multiple sources:

(1) Season Ticket sales, single game tickets, and group tickets,
(2) Donations, big and small, from Cal alumni and fans,
(3) ESP seat subscriptions,
(4) Pac-12 distributions from the contracts with Fox, ESPN, and probably beginning in 2013, the Pac-12 Network,
(5) sponsorships from local and national businesses, many of whom you see ads for in Cal Memorial and Haas Pavilion,
(6) merchandise sales,
(7) concessions at football and basketball games,
(8) probably a number of other sources I haven't mentioned because I'm not trying to be exhaustive.

Is that a sufficient answer to the question?

You forgot the $10 million dollar+ subsidy from the University.

You're right, I did forget the subsidy from the University.

But is it really as high as $10 million for 2011? I thought it was somewhere in the high 7 figures range, not the low 8 figures range.

Correct. And, of course, the extra fund raising that Sandy made to fund the buyout from those who wanted it. There was some extra donor money raised.

Of course, this year, there was also the extra $10 million goldman money for the plaza. Where did that go? That was Bear backer money or athletic endowment money or money to pay for the HPC?

There is a lot of money floating around.

And of course, the less than $10 million University funding is offset by the $15 million the University gets from athletics for Tuition.
