What a comical misuse of his talents this year: http://pac-12.com/Sports/Football/Article/tabid/251/Article/200461/Title/Pac-12-football-awards-and-all-conference-team-announced.aspx

A fire-able offense. Spare me the fumble thing. Keenan Allen fumbles. Maynard fumbles. Isi fumbles. If he got half the chance of those three on average alone we would have won some more games.

While neither Sofele nor CJ Anderson made any list.
Keep the talent on the bench!

Makes sense considering he was Honorable Mention on his own team.

I think that's a bit kind. Honorable Afterthought is more like it. *sigh*

LOL

Unbelievable.

He may be the first 3rd string running back to receive all conference honors. Nice job Gould and Tedford.

True. Although I think we are both being generous with the word "honorable" (in Teddy's eyes). Can't wait to see how our next coach utilizes him.

Good to see that D'Amato got all Pac-12 as PK.

Good for D'Amato, but sad to see that only one other Bear (Schwenke) made either the first or second team.

is everyone being sarcastic or did no one actually read the list? He's honorable mention as a return specialist. He's our starting kick returner.

Honestly, D'Amato pretty much missed nearly every really important kick for the season. I know some of the even routine ones helped with the general posture of each game but still. Seems like a good kid -- this is just about his performance. I think this is one where stats overrate the player.

LOL thanks for reading it. None of us want to read it because it's too painful.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that people jumped the gun and didn't read the link.

Keenan only got honorable mention but will still be a first rounder.

And he was misused here on a couple of occasions too. Manuel took all the kick returns against ASU, a game where we could have used any offense. He split KRs with Manuel against Utah, a game where a big run might have helped.

Was he that great as a kick returner? I think he almost broke a couple but mostly he predictably went to the short side of the field (ALWAYS) and got tackled fairly quickly. I think coaches gave him that because how explosive he was the few times he got touches from the LOS.

Maybe, they are naive, but the coaches might realize that you can't blame a player for his coach's unrealistic expectations or conservative and predictable play calling.

Yes.

For some odd reason, we insisted on spliting our return men for seemingly more than half of the season - giving the other team an easy way to figure out how to NOT kick to Bigelow.

It wasn't until late in the year we figured out we could like them both up in the middle of the field and await the KO - with most returns thus ending up in Bigelow's hands.
